Osong, Cheongju Korean BBQ for two with bibim naengmyeon: Hanmaeum

Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Osong 2 Sandan Branch — a delicious, good-quality Osong BBQ restaurant I'd recommend.

There's an Osong BBQ spot my husband and I go to whenever we eat out with our nieces and nephews. The meat quality is good, the price is good, the basic side dishes come out generously, and there's even a playroom for the kids — it's "Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang"!!

Right as you walk in, there's a huge pork model hanging up that catches your eye from the entrance, and you can watch the owner busily butchering meat right in front of you — it made me trust this Osong BBQ place even more.

The interior is very spacious with extra room for group seating, so I think this is one of the best BBQ restaurants in Osong for group gatherings and family meals ><

Is there a kids' playroom? The Kids Zone

And this is what's called the 'Kids Zone' — the playroom at Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Osong 2 Sandan Branch. I remember as a kid going out for BBQ and ending up just happily playing with friends in the playroom, so I really know how important a space like this is for family gatherings with kids.

500g half pig for 40,000 won: which five pork cuts?

Since it was just my husband and me that day, we only ordered the half pig, and you know how generous 500g is for two people?? On top of that, 500g for 40,000 won — I think this might be the cheapest BBQ place in Osong. Plus it's a satisfying variety, letting you enjoy pork belly, ogyeopsal, pork neck, jowl meat and gabrisal all at once ^^

It's not just cheap — every time I come I notice the meat quality is really good, so if you want delicious meat, don't hesitate, just come to "Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Osong Branch." The meat is also sliced nice and thick, so the juices come out even tastier, tender yet totally, totally delicious haha.

Included sides: jjolmyeon, doenjang jjigae and kimchi pancake

These aren't menu items you order separately — jjolmyeon (chewy cold noodles), doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and kimchi pancake come out as basic sides, and they're so generous that ordering just meat and rice is already enough for a full meal ><

I took a photo of the table before the kimchi pancake arrived — so many side dishes, truly a great deal, right?!

If you run out of any side dish, you can just conveniently grab more from the [self-serve bar], which is nice, and the seasoning was just right and delicious, and the vegetables were completely fresh with no wilting !!

How does the grill-it-yourself pork taste?

Osong BBQ restaurant Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang doesn't grill the meat for you, but even so, I always want to come back for the good price and generous portions.

The thick, nicely grilled meat has no off smell and keeps its savory juices — delicious meat with no toughness, which I love even more.

The pork neck also had a good amount of savory fat and held onto its juices, so it was delicious.

Adding bibim naengmyeon and a doenjang jjigae refill

The table was already generous with the basic sides, but my husband was craving bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) that day, so we ordered it extra, and the side menu at this Osong BBQ recommendation, "Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Osong Branch," had a seasoning flavor that both adults and kids would love ><

While we were happily eating, the owner offered us more doenjang jjigae and refilled it generously with tofu — such a great-value restaurant, I completely recommend this Osong BBQ spot !!
