Busan cake shop: fresh mango cake instead of Seongsimdang, Sijeunikeu
In short
Sijeunikeu (시즈니크) Shinsegae Department Store Centum City Branch is a fresh-fruit cake shop on B1 of Shinsegae Centum City in Haeundae, Busan, and the Seoul-famous brand's first store in the Gyeongsang and Busan region. Visiting during melon and mango season, the writer took home a Mango Top Cake Mini with 3 whole mangoes for two people, and the well-ripened fresh mango filled the Mango Top Cake Mini all the way through. When you're craving Seongsimdang's Mango Siru, Sijeunikeu's Mango Top Cake Mini is a good fresh mango cake to pick instead in Busan.

Sijeunikeu, the first fresh-fruit cake shop to open in Busan's Centum City
I heard that Sijeunikeu (시즈니크), famous in Seoul for its fresh-fruit cake series, had newly opened at Shinsegae Centum City in Busan, so I went to check it out - 🤍! It's a hugely popular fresh-fruit cake shop in Seoul, and this is the first one in the Gyeongsang and Busan area, so I was so curious!
The shop is on B1 of Shinsegae Centum City, next to Gentle Monster and across from Starbucks, so it's very easy to find. Even from far away, the cake showcase packed with fresh fruit grabs your eye automatically 🤩

What kind of fruit cakes does Sijeunikeu sell?
Sijeunikeu offers two fruits each season, and this season it's melon and mango! 🍈🥭 They also use 100% dairy fresh cream, so it's even richer and softer - the perfect fruit cake to scoop up with a spoon 🤍

The signature Farm Wareureu is sold out; same-day arrival, same-day sale
Sijeunikeu's signature item is the Farm Wareureu (농장 와르르, "fruit tumbling down"), a cake designed to look like fruit cascading off it. The melon milk fresh cream Farm Wareureu cakes were all sold out! They told me the ones in the showcase were reserved cakes 🥺!
I was shopping and planned to come back for the cake later, but Sijeunikeu's rule is same-day arrival, same-day sale, so when you return it may be sold out or have none of the fruit cakes you like. If you really want one, I recommend buying first and asking them to keep it in the showcase!

Sijeunikeu mango cake types: Mango Top No. 1 and Mini
The mango cakes were Farm Wareureu, Mango Top Cake No. 1 and Mango Top Cake Mini! Mango Top Cake No. 1 has 4 whole mangoes and the Mini has 3 whole mangoes, both packed with fresh mango 🥭
I like melon too, but lately I'm sooo into mango that I stared at the mango showcase without a second thought.. 🤍 It's not just me - I could feel everyone passing by stop in their tracks at how the cakes looked haha 😖
They looked so radiant lined up together.. ✨ Except for the mango (Thai), everything from the fresh cream to the whole eggs is Korean-made, so you can eat with more trust 🍰 They also say they select fresh fruit every morning, so the taste is guaranteed too, and it makes a great gift for friends or pregnant women -!

Can you buy birthday candles at Sijeunikeu?
There are number candles next to the Sijeunikeu showcase that you can buy, and for plain stick candles, they'll ask if you need any when you buy, and you get them free! The number candles are round and so cute too, so I highly recommend them for a Busan anniversary cake 😍

For two people, the Mango Top Cake Mini
After some thought, I bought the Sijeunikeu Mango Top Cake Mini, which is just right for two! The weather's been cool lately, so I thought a Sijeunikeu fresh mango cake would be great for a picnic or a home party too 🎁

Sijeunikeu packaging: standard or cooler bag (+₩2,500)
I went with standard packaging, but if your trip is over an hour, I recommend the cooler bag packaging (₩2,500 extra)! 🛍 Even with standard packaging, maybe because it's summer, they put a mini ice pack inside the cake box!

Sijeunikeu is inside Shinsegae Centum City, so you can earn Shinsegae Points and get parking validated, so no parking worries - a big plus!

Opening the Sijeunikeu Mango Top Cake Mini at home
Here's the Sijeunikeu Mango Top Cake Mini opened at home 🧡 It's called Mini, but with 3 whole mangoes it's definitely not a small amount 🤤!
It's even sprinkled with gold flakes, so it's perfect as the main cake for an anniversary or birthday party 😍 I was desperate for Seongsimdang's Mango Sirut (mango cake) this time, and in Busan, a Sijeunikeu mango cake is just the right substitute, right.. 🤍

Inside the Mango Top Cake and the taste
The Sijeunikeu Mango Top Cake is packed with fresh mango inside too, and it was sweet because the mango was nicely ripened. If you love mango, this is a fresh mango cake you'll absolutely love 🥭🤍
Sijeunikeu mango cake price, compared with mango bingsu
Sijeunikeu mango cakes run from the high ₩30,000s to the low ₩50,000s depending on size. Fresh mango bingsu (shaved ice) these days is in the high ₩20,000s too, and some places are crazy expensive, so a cake with fresh fruit rather than frozen at this price seems reasonable, and easier on the wallet than bingsu!
On top of that, the fruit changes every season, so you can enjoy a different fruit cake each time, which seems like the biggest plus! With summer coming, the peach cake sounds delicious, and with figs, red hyang (a citrus), and strawberries still to come, I'm even more excited for Sijeunikeu Shinsegae Centum City 😌💗!
Before mango season ends, I really recommend trying the Sijeunikeu Mango Top Cake packed with fresh mango 💌
