In short
Rama & Bavana Suseong Lake Branch is an Indian restaurant in Suseong, Daegu, with views of Suseong Lake. We leisurely enjoyed coconut cream shrimp curry, tandoori tikka, garlic naan, and blueberry lassi, with parking behind the restaurant. A lovely pick for Indian food before or after a lakeside walk.

It had been a while since I’d had something a little different, so I went out for Indian food 😊 This time, I visited Rama & Bavana Suseong Lake Branch, where you can enjoy not only the food but also the atmosphere, with a view of Suseong Lake!

Parking and window views near Suseong Lake
Parking can be something you quietly worry about when eating near Suseong Lake, but this place has a parking lot behind the restaurant, so it was convenient to visit by car. After parking and heading inside, I found it more accessible than I expected.

Once inside, we settled into our seats, and I loved the view of Suseong Lake from the window. Being able to look out over the water while eating delicious food made the meal feel a little more leisurely than usual. We arrived before lunch, so it was fairly quiet at first, but more and more guests came in while we ate~~~

The Indian dishes we ordered
We ordered coconut cream shrimp curry, tandoori tikka, garlic naan, and blueberry lassi.

Ta-da! Our order is here, haha.

The roasted aroma and tender texture of tandoori tikka
🍗🦐 Tandoori tikka The tandoori tikka was a dish of shrimp and chicken roasted in a tandoor oven. Maybe because it was oven-roasted, it had a subtle smoky aroma on the outside, and since it tasted different from the curry, I was glad we ordered it together. The shrimp had a lovely springy texture, while the chicken was light and delicious with that roasted aroma. It wasn’t tough at all—really tender~~~

How was the coconut cream shrimp curry?
🦐 Shrimp curry with coconut cream One of the dishes I was most looking forward to was the shrimp curry. With coconut cream added, it was smoother and richer than a typical Indian curry. I worried the distinctive coconut scent might be too strong, but it was milder than expected and went well with the curry spices. It also came with shrimp, and having the shrimp with the curry gave it a nice texture.

And of course, curry tastes best dipped in naan (Indian flatbread)! 😆 Dipping plenty of curry into the naan, the rich naan and smooth curry went so well together.

Garlic naan and blueberry lassi together
🧄 Garlic naan And then there was the garlic naan, which you simply can’t leave out! Eaten warm, the naan itself was chewy and soft, and the garlicky aroma on top made it delicious even on its own. Add the shrimp curry, and the garlic fragrance deepens the curry’s rich flavor—such a good combination. Personally, I always order naan when I go for Indian food, and once again, I was glad I did.

🫐 Blueberry lassi For a drink, we ordered blueberry lassi, a yogurt-based Indian drink. When you’re eating Indian food, spices and curry can make your mouth feel a little heavy, but the lassi gently refreshed the palate between bites, so it paired really well. The sweet blueberry flavor made it an even better match with the curry than I expected. 💜

A good meal before or after a walk around Suseong Lake
Overall, this meal let us enjoy the food, atmosphere, and view all together. Above all, because it overlooks Suseong Lake, it felt like a place where you could take your time talking over a meal rather than just eat and leave. On a nice day, it would be lovely to stop by before or after a walk around the lake. The parking lot behind the restaurant also made it convenient to visit by car.
I think both Indian food lovers and those who do not usually eat curry or naan could enjoy starting with the coconut cream shrimp curry + garlic naan combination without feeling overwhelmed. When you want something a little different near Suseong Lake, or feel like enjoying Indian food with a pretty view, this was a great place to visit 😊 With the Suseong Lake view as well, I think it would be a nice choice for anyone looking for a meal in a lovely atmosphere. 💕
