Parking out front and a comfortable seating atmosphere

For office workers and parents, the most important things at lunchtime are surely parking and comfort. There is a well-prepared parking area right in front of the restaurant, so it was easy to visit without worrying about bringing the car. There were no barriers, and plenty of spaces meant we could park right away without waiting.

Inside, we were welcomed by a clean, cozy wood-toned interior. From bar tables perfect for solo dining to seats for families and office colleagues, the layout was thoughtfully arranged and created the comfortable atmosphere you would expect from a great Suseong-dong rice restaurant. Since it was the weekend, the place was bustling with solo diners and people visiting for brunch with their children. As lunchtime approached, I could even see people waiting in line.

We could choose from the various set meals at our table and order right away.

There were plenty of satisfying Korean dishes to choose from when busy people crave a home-cooked meal but want to eat out casually instead. Each hearty Korean table setting came with three basic banchan (side dishes), a main side dish, soup, and rice.

A full meal of fire-grilled jeyuk-bokkeum and doenjang-jjigae

Our main meal arrived! The smoky fire-grilled jeyuk-bokkeum, comforting doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) set meal, and neat side dishes were beautifully arranged on a tray, almost as if they were being served as a special course. 👍👍 They even kept the charcoal-grilled pork warm with solid fuel—such thoughtful care!!! We could enjoy tender meat that stayed warm right to the last bite.

The jeyuk-bokkeum was not overpowering, but its sweet-and-spicy seasoning had soaked in beautifully and paired wonderfully with freshly cooked rice. After just one bite, I immediately understood why it is popular as a Daebong-dong lunch spot for office workers wanting a filling meal. When you are working, you often find yourself craving Korean food, right? There are so many menu choices, so you can come here without hesitation and pick whatever suits your mood that day.

A kids' meal tray my child finished in no time

This was what impressed me most about visiting with a child! The dedicated kids’ menu came on a cute eco-friendly tray, generously filled with rice, soup, a meat side dish, and an organic drink, and my child happily finished every bit of their own meal.

Mixed rice into the miyeokguk (seaweed soup) and polished off a whole bowl!!! Even the very last piece of tangsuyuk, all gone 🍽

For parents raising children, there is nothing more appreciated than seeing a child clean their tray like this. That is why I really want to recommend Cafe Dongi Suseong 1-ga Branch as a great Suseong-gu Korean restaurant to visit with kids. 👍👍👍

Sweet-and-tangy tangsuyuk and a puffed-barley dessert

And this sweet-and-tangy tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) was truly delicious, so please be sure to try it. They even have a tasting-size portion of tangsuyuk, so you can order according to how much you want!!!

After the meal, you can also enjoy a nutty barley ppeongtwigi (puffed barley snack) dessert at the self-bar. My child loved picking it up with the tongs and eating it, making this a perfect course that left us smiling right to the end.
