New to Mexican food? What to order at Habanero Daegu Sincheon

We were new to Mexican food, so at Habanero Daegu Sincheon we ordered the quesadilla couple set. Mexican dishes do sound a little unfamiliar, right? But once we tasted them, they whetted our appetite and the exotic mood put us in a good mood too~

Now that the weather is turning a bit cool, I thought slightly spicy, savory Mexican food would be great for an outing or a date, so here it is! We'd heard of tacos and quesadillas, but looking at the menu we had no idea what to pick, or which dishes go well together.

Team Dori (that's us) ordered the quesadilla couple set at Habanero's Sincheon main branch. The food was all new to us, but because it came as a set, ordering was easy and we could try several dishes at once.

Habanero Daegu Sincheon is within walking distance of Exit 4 of Daegu Bank Station, so it looked easy to reach by public transport too. We came by car, and having parking space in front of the restaurant was convenient.

Inside, the mood was more relaxed than I expected. I'd imagined something flashy and exotic for a Mexican restaurant, but overall it felt comfortable and easy for a casual meal.

The restaurant is split across the 1st and 2nd floors. Since we came with our child, I checked for baby chairs, and there is one on each floor, 2 in total.

This matters when you eat out as a family~ (The photo came out a bit dark, sorry!)

What comes in the quesadilla couple set?

The quesadilla couple set at Habanero Daegu Sincheon comes with a beef taco + patata + beef quesadilla + ade. Let's look at the menu.

After a long time deliberating over the menu, we went with the quesadilla couple set. For the tacos, you can choose the main ingredient, such as shrimp or cheese beef.

For us, unfamiliar with Mexican food, a set with a fixed lineup was actually easier. We wanted to try tacos and were curious about quesadillas too, but picking single items one by one, we couldn't tell which combination was good. Being able to try several dishes at once was great.

Every table has a kiosk, which makes ordering easy.

Habanero Daegu Sincheon also sells tequila by the shot or by the bottle, so it seems like a great place for a special dinner out or a drinking night.

How do the beef taco and beef quesadilla taste?

And finally, the food arrived.

The beef taco caught my eye first.

The beef taco is packed with meat, vegetables and other fillings, so just looking at it makes you want a big bite. Tacos aren't something we eat often, so at first I wondered how to eat it, but you just pick it up and eat, haha. Eating the fillings together rather than one by one let us taste several flavors at once.

Beef quesadilla

And the beef quesadilla, the one I was most curious about. On the outside it's golden-grilled tortillas with filling in between. With cheese, meat and tortilla together, it felt different from the taco.

If it's your first time with Mexican food, I think starting with something like a quesadilla, made with familiar ingredients, is a good idea.

As the set dishes arrived one by one, the table quickly filled up. With tacos, quesadilla and a side together, being able to taste a little of everything felt like the couple set's big plus.

Is the patata side worth ordering?

Patata is a side dish with a whole potato that you mix with cheese, and it's a must-order ⭐️. It softens the tangy, slightly spicy flavors of the taco and quesadilla.

We tried the patata side too. When you keep eating only the mains, you start craving something else in between, and with a side on the table it was nice to alternate.

The ade and the couple set as a whole

With the ade added, the meal felt quite complete. It was cold, went down easily, and had pieces of fruit in it 👍

Here's the whole set together. With so many dishes arriving, taking photos was fun too, haha. While we ate, a foreign guest was dining at the next table~ Seeing them enjoy tacos and Mexican food so naturally made the atmosphere feel a little different during our meal.

Who Habanero Daegu Sincheon is good for

On the way out after the meal, I took another shot of the 1st-floor interior. Delivery orders kept coming in, and the kitchen was busy.

Habanero Daegu Sincheon was a good stop when you want something a little different from your usual food. For people like us who aren't used to Mexican food, choosing a set like the quesadilla couple set made ordering easy and let us taste a bit of everything, which we liked.

I also liked that baby chairs were available for visiting with a child, and that there are restrooms inside the building. If you're in Daegu craving something different, or looking for a good place in Sincheon-dong and got curious about tacos or quesadillas, it's worth a visit.

This was the first time I'd properly eaten Mexican food too, and it was easier to enjoy than I expected. 😊
