Jawline-up vintage perm at Tthe Art Hair, a Paju hair salon

I got a short vintage perm above the jawline at Tthe Art Hair Unjeong Station Branch (띠아트헤어 운정역점), near Unjeong Starfield Village. I initially had a tassel cut in mind, but after discussing my face shape and usual styling habits, I chose a short style with curls.

Was parking and getting to Starfield Village convenient?

Parking and location are important to me when choosing a hair salon. Since Starfield Village is right in front of this salon, it was convenient to go shopping after getting my hair done.

I parked at Aju Parking Building. There was a fair amount of parking space when I visited, so even as a beginner driver, I was able to park without rushing. Parking on the second floor was especially convenient because it connected directly to the salon, so I did not need to walk around the building.

What was the salon like during the appointment?

The salon had floor-to-ceiling windows with views outside, so it did not feel stuffy. I found the overall atmosphere private, which made me feel comfortable during the appointment.

Why did I choose a short vintage perm instead of a tassel cut?

I originally visited planning to get a tassel cut. The stylist in charge discussed my face shape while also looking at my current hair length.

Before the appointment, I was concerned not only about the hair length but also about the condition of my color. After cutting my hair first, the stylist explained that a short style with curls would suit my face shape better.

Rather than simply recommending a perm, the stylist explained the choice based on my current length and face shape, which changed my mind toward a vintage perm. I usually do little beyond washing and drying my hair, so the ease of styling also influenced my decision. This time, I wanted to go quite short, so I settled on a length above the jawline.

How was the short vintage perm done?

After cutting my hair to the desired length, the stylist moisturized it with steam and wrapped the perm rods. The perm was then completed with the neutralizing process.

How did the finished curls and styling feel?

The stylist checked the curls at intervals during the process, so I was curious about the result. Once it was finished, I liked the curls because they looked more natural than I expected. It was a short bob falling above the jawline with a slight curl.

It did not look overly styled; it felt as though the shape came together just by drying my hair. I felt it suited my habit of not spending much time on everyday styling. I was satisfied that I chose the style after discussing not only the shape I wanted but also my face shape and usual styling routine.
