⏰ Daily 08:00–21:00 (last order 20:30) 🅿️ Dedicated building parking available (up to 35 cars) As a cool breeze blew in like autumn was on its way, I was craving warm soup, so my husband and I went for a proper nourishing meal at a great restaurant near Kkachiul Station (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

Hanchon Seolleongtang Bucheon Kkachiul Station Branch, a great spot in Jak-dong near Kkachiul Station on Line 7 for seolleongtang (ox-bone soup) and other warm soups. The parking lot was spacious too, so we came by car and parked without any worry :-) They say it can fit as many as 35 cars at once!

Inside, with partitioned seating and high chairs

The interior was so neat, and each table had good partitions, so we could eat comfortably without worrying about the tables beside us. The tables were roomy too, so it seems perfect for a family meal. There were plenty of high chairs prepared as well, so bringing little ones would be no problem,,ෆ

Why we ordered royal galbitang

There are so many soup dishes here—seolleongtang, gomtang (beef soup), doganitang (ox-knee soup), samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), and royal galbitang (beef short-rib soup)—ෆ They also have lots of hearty hot-pot dishes for restoring your energy, including boiled beef hot pot, tripe hot pot, and assorted boiled beef, so it is such a good place to come recharge 😆 My husband and I visited as a pair and ordered two royal galbitang, and each bowl came with two huge ribs, so we had a wonderfully filling meal!

Royal galbitang (₩20,000) With two huge beef ribs in its light, clean broth, this is a dish that really lets you recharge. It looked generously portioned at a glance, so even though it was a little pricey, the royal galbitang did not feel wasteful at all!

Look at all that thick, substantial meat attached to the ribs,,♡ The bones were not just big—there was just as much meat properly attached to them!!!!!!!

They gave each person tongs and scissors to make trimming the ribs easy. Such a thoughtful touch,,ෆ Once I had cut up all the meat, there was truly so much of it—I could have been full just eating the meat. The lean meat was tender and soft too, slipping right off the bones, and it was delicious.

To eat the moist rib meat, I put the cut meat back into the galbitang, and somehow it made me happy that every spoonful came up full of meat!

The broth had just the right amount of richness while still tasting light and clean, never greasy, and full of savory depth. It was seasoned perfectly for mixing with rice, so there was no need to add more salt!

There were chewy glass noodles hiding beneath the ribs too 😆 A royal galbitang that was varied and filling.

If you happen to need more rice, simply help yourself to as much as you like from the rice cooker at the self-service corner. The generosity makes this place feel even more satisfying ฅʕ•̫͡•ʔฅ

Even this pregnant woman with no appetite(?) finished every last drop—it was such delicious royal galbitang,,,ෆ I had recently lost weight because of morning sickness, so my husband had been worrying about me every day, but that day I was completely restored. It had been a while since I had properly replenished myself!

As I was paying and heading out, I noticed they also sell products that are easy to enjoy at home, including beef radish soup, beef seaweed soup, beef-bone gomtang, and yukgaejang (spicy beef soup)! Keeping a few packs stocked up would be handy for putting together a simple meal at home.

A hearty bowl that warmed me right through

Hanchon Seolleongtang Bucheon Kkachiul Station Branch in Jak-dong feels like a place I will think of whenever I crave hot soup. With generous meat and a rich broth, one filling bowl made me feel warm right down to my stomach. I would like to visit again for a family meal or whenever I need a hearty meal!
