When I stepped inside, I loved how spacious and clean it was. Seeing the duck mascot and the stored duck meat made me feel like I had really found a great duck specialty restaurant in Okgil-dong, Bucheon.

This is a duck specialty restaurant and Korean set-meal spot said to lovingly capture the mother-in-law's home cooking, so it seemed ideal for a family meal. There were truly lots of tables, and the restaurant was spacious and clean.

Spacious, clean restaurant interior

I sat farther inside, where there were group tables too, and it looked like many families were visiting. So if you are looking for a Korean set-meal restaurant in Bucheon for a family meal, I would confidently recommend it!

What comes with the Keunsawi Best Table Set

We could order from the tablet beside the table, and because we wanted to try a variety of dishes, we ordered the Keunsawi Best Table Set, which includes hinoki-steamed duck, a sample portion of perilla-seed chicken, and duck dori-tang (spicy braised duck stew). At weekday lunch, you can order table-set meals such as the Alchan Set and Dambaek Set, as well as à la carte dishes.

After ordering, they also recommended using the self-service bar. We could help ourselves to the sauces and fresh geotjeori kimchi. There was even mild seaweed soup for children!

They also had everything from plain white rice to gondre and shiitake mushroom rice, so you could look after your health too 👍 The rice was freshly cooked, with a little nurungji (crispy scorched rice) mixed in, making it even tastier and nicely fluffy, haha.

From hinoki-steamed duck to perilla-seed chicken

While I stepped away for a moment, they prepared the hinoki-steamed duck. They told us to eat the duck in the upper steamer first, then have the duck dori-tang underneath. Once the steamer timer ends, a staff member opens it for you, so all you have to do is wait.

For banchan (Korean side dishes), we received pickled radish wraps, ssamjang dipping paste, garlic, and perilla leaves. They also brought mushrooms and chives for the duck stew, plus the ingredients for fried rice, in advance!

The sample perilla-seed chicken came out too. The perilla-seed porridge was so nutty and delicious, and the chicken drumstick was tender and soft, which I loved. The porridge was rich without feeling heavy, and it paired well with both the steamed duck and duck dori-tang.

When you order the Keunsawi Best Table Set like this, the table is filled with hinoki-steamed duck, sample perilla-seed chicken, duck dori-tang, vegetable add-ons, rice-cake add-ons, and three-color fried rice—it is seriously generous!!

Hinoki-steamed duck opened after the timer

The timer for the steamed duck ended and they opened it for us. I was really surprised by how generous it looked the moment it opened. Bean sprouts and duck were arranged beautifully amid the billowing steam, haha.

Dipping the steamed duck in peanut sauce or chili sauce from the self-service bar was light and delicious. The meat was not tough, and the thoroughly cooked bean sprouts had a great texture too.

Put the steamed duck on gondre rice and eat it with kimchi made with that mother-in-law home-cooking touch, and you have an absolutely dreamy combination, haha. The kimchi and steamed duck went so well together.

After we told the staff we had finished the steamed duck, they cleared away the upper steamer and briefly explained how to eat the duck dori-tang.

They said to add the rice cakes, vegetables, and mushroom add-ons to the bubbling duck dori-tang and let them cook together. First enjoy the duck stew, then make your own fried rice with the fried-rice ingredients.

The duck dori-tang had an appealing spicy broth. They gave us a variety of mushrooms, and even white wood ear mushrooms, which I love—such a great touch!! The mushroom add-ons were really delicious, so make sure to cook them well :)

After the light steamed duck, the sweet-spicy duck dori-tang made me feel pleasantly full and satisfied. As you would expect from a duck specialty restaurant, the meat was so tasty, and the rice-cake add-ons were wonderfully chewy and delicious.

We left just a little broth and duck meat, then made the fried rice ourselves!

Honestly... the duck dori-tang broth itself was delicious, so the fried rice was packed with umami! I recommend frying it gently over low heat, almost like making a little nurungji. The seasoning soaked right into the rice, making it even tastier.

On the way out, there was plum tea or omija tea, which was perfect to enjoy as a dessert!

It has even been selected as a popular restaurant with lots of repeat visitors, and I am sure there may be people who have not visited yet, but nobody visits only once! The interior is spacious enough to sit comfortably, and the Best Table Set lets you enjoy duck in many ways. If you are looking for a great restaurant in Okgil-dong, Bucheon, or near Starfield Bucheon, I recommend giving Keunsawi Ori Jip a try :)
