Pocheon Korean restaurant with a kids’ playroom: Haepumgye
In short
Haepumgye Pocheon Main Branch is a Korean restaurant in Songu-ri, Pocheon, Gyeonggi, serving haesintang seafood-and-chicken soup. We visited with children, who headed straight for the in-store playroom, while our reserved table had high chairs and side dishes ready. Haepumgye is a great pick for a filling family meal.

I visited Haepumgye, a restorative-food spot in Songu-ri, Pocheon, on a weekday evening!

Haepumgye, a lunch restaurant in Songu-ri, Pocheon, has a large parking lot out front, so it was convenient to drive there.

The interior was clean and spacious, with lots of tables, so it would be great for a family gathering in Pocheon, too.

There were plenty of high chairs ready in one area, and when you reserve in advance, they ask whether you need one and have it set up for you, too 👍

The self-service bar had a variety of banchan (Korean side dishes), so you can help yourself to extra sides 👍

They also had maesil-cha (plum tea) and sanghwang mushroom cassia-seed tea for dessert, making it a nice place to bring older family members, too.

The in-store playroom the kids loved
Haepumgye, a Pocheon restaurant with a playroom, is one of those restaurants kids absolutely love because the playroom is inside 🤭🤍 It was kept very clean, and they ran straight in to play as soon as we arrived 🙌
Ordering Haepum Haesintang and glutinous rice
- Haepum Haesintang ₩70,000
- Glutinous rice ₩2,000
This is what we ordered! Naver says glutinous rice is unlimited with meal orders, but when I asked, I was told that you need to order it separately with haesintang. We added one because the kids needed rice, too.

We reserved through Naver before visiting, so the banchan and high chair were all set up. The sides were just the things that pair well with Haepumgye’s main dish: kimchi, kkakdugi cubed radish kimchi, white kimchi, cucumber peppers, and chive soy sauce.
A generous haesintang, from octopus to chicken
The haesintang came out quickly, in a large, deep pot, and I was surprised by both the presentation and the portion 😌

The haesintang included octopus, small octopus, shrimp, red scallops, clams, and assorted vegetables, plus a separate plate of vegetables for shabu-shabu 👍
At Haepumgye, a Korean restaurant in Songu-ri, Pocheon, they prepare all the seafood for you when you order haesintang. The octopus was really big and there was so much food that I recommend it for four adults! There was a generous variety of seafood, including octopus, small octopus, shrimp, scallops, and clams.

There was a very large piece of chicken in it as well, making the portion even bigger 🙌 It was packed with vegetables, too, including shiitake mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, napa cabbage, and bok choy.

Dip the seafood and chicken in the soy-and-chive sauce for an even better bite—definitely try it 👏
After eating some of the meat and seafood, add the extra shabu-shabu vegetables and bring it to a boil once more. It would be great to finish with kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), but we were so full that we couldn’t make it that far ㅠㅠ

We completely cleaned out the pot—vegetables, chicken, seafood, everything—at Haepumgye! I recommend it as a great haesintang spot in Pocheon 📍

We even finished our plum tea for dessert. I recommend it as a place for family gatherings in Pocheon 🫶
