I had an appointment in Yongsan and was trying to figure out what to eat for dinner — that's how I ended up at Yukmong Yongsan Direct Store! There are honestly so many good restaurants around Yongsan and Samgakji these days that it's hard to choose. That day I wanted something hearty and meaty, and more than anything I wanted to actually talk with the person I was meeting without fussing over the grill, so I looked for a place where the staff grill for you and landed here.

To cut to the conclusion first: the meat was fresh and the staff grilled it for us themselves, which made the whole meal so easy!! You know how at BBQ places you end up spending half the meal fussing over the grill. Here you just get to eat perfectly grilled meat and focus on conversation instead, which I loved.
Where is Yukmong Yongsan Direct Store? A minute from Samgakji Station Exit 1
Yukmong Yongsan Direct Store is located near Exit 1 of Samgakji Station. It's a convenient spot whether you're looking for a place to eat meat in Yongsan or have a dinner appointment near Samgakji.
Korean BBQ where the staff do all the grilling
Especially on days when I'm meeting a friend or acquaintance I haven't seen in a while, I prefer places where the staff grill over places where you have to keep grilling yourself. Grilling meat while trying to talk and checking whether it's burning haha — it's busier than you'd think.
On that front, Yukmong was great because the staff grill the meat, so we could just relax and eat.

What's in the 550g Korean pork set at Yukmong, and what it costs
We ordered the 550g Korean pork mixed set. This set lets you try knife-cut pork belly, whole pork collar, and pork skirt meat all at once, and the price as confirmed now is ₩69,900. It was nice to be able to compare a little of each cut instead of eating just one kind the whole time.

There's also a wide range of drinks on the menu, so you can pick according to your taste.

The basic table setting came with plenty of dipping sauces, which made it fun to enjoy a variety of flavors.

More than anything, the meat looked good overall from the moment I first saw it. Eating it confirmed that — it tasted fresh, and each cut had a slightly different texture, which made it fun to try one by one.

Pork especially can taste quite different depending on how it's grilled, so having staff grill it for us meant we got to eat it right at its best moment — a real advantage!

After a short wait, it went straight onto the grill!

The side to order: caviar cheese egg custard
And the side dish we ordered was the caviar cheese egg custard. From the name alone — not just plain egg custard but caviar cheese egg custard — I was curious. When you've been eating meat non-stop, you crave something soft in between, right? The fluffy egg custard with cheese added a savory note, and the caviar on top made it visually special too.

All you had to do was pick up perfectly grilled meat piece by piece — so ridiculously easy haha. No need to designate one person to keep grilling and pass the tongs around either. This must be why meat grilled by someone else tastes so good..!

The biggest advantage of the Korean pork mixed set was, again, getting to try several cuts at once. From the familiar pork belly to pork collar and pork skirt meat, all served together, it was great for finding the cut that suits your taste.
I'm the type who agonizes a bit over what to order first when I go out for meat, so ordering a mixed set like this meant I didn't have to think about it at all — very convenient.

I think it's a good approach to start with the mixed set to try a variety, then order more of whichever cut you liked best.

Ordering the Korean pork mixed set meant we got to evenly enjoy pork belly, pork collar, and pork skirt meat, and pairing it with the caviar cheese egg custard in between made for a pretty great combination. If you're looking for a BBQ restaurant where staff grill for you near Yongsan or Samgakji, or want to try several Korean pork cuts at once, this is a place worth visiting.
Knife-cut pork belly, whole pork collar and pork skirt: how each cut tasted
From the very first bite, the meat had this juicy, moist quality I loved. The pork belly was browned nicely on the outside — slightly crisp on the surface while staying soft and moist inside.
The savory fat flavor spread through the mouth, but instead of being greasy it was clean and light, so I kept reaching for more.

The pork collar was leaner than the belly but thicker cut, so it had real chewing satisfaction. It wasn't dry at all — moist enough that even just a light dip in salt tasted great.
The pork skirt meat had a distinctly chewy texture — even though it's all pork, each cut had a different flavor and texture, which made it fun to pick and choose.

If I come back, I'd like to start with the Korean pork mixed set again and try a wider variety of the other side dishes too :)

Overall, the meat felt fresh, and I was satisfied to be able to try several kinds of Korean pork at once — that's Yukmong for you!

If you're looking for a good BBQ spot near Samgakji Station for a group gathering, give it a visit.
