Suwon pizza restaurant with a Monday lunch wait, corn pizza: Low Five

Hi, this is Gaeul. When I travel, I rarely revisit the same restaurant twice — but there's one pizza place I've actually gone back to. It's technically a Western-style restaurant, but the pizza there is legendary.

Today's visit to Low Five was already a repeat trip to the Haenggung-dong location for me, and I've also been to other branches several times. This is Low Five, located in Haenggung-dong, Suwon.

This Haenggung-dong favorite sits near Hwaryeongjeon and the Haenggung-dong Community Center, so it was easy to find with a map. It occupies an entire building, so it stood out from far away, and the exterior was decorated in a grand "Haenggung-dong-st" style that looked really impressive.

A wait even at Monday lunch: what Low Five looks like inside

Low Five is popular enough that even a Monday lunch visit meant a CatchTable wait. Inside, the tables were spaced generously so it was easy to move around, and the interior had a clear aesthetic, making it a pretty space that photographs well too.

At the central self-serve bar you could grab hot sauce, grated cheese, and more, and there were also hair ties, wet wipes, and aprons available for women.

They brought out cold water and jalapeño pickles first. The plate settings, napkins, spoons, and forks all had a nice sense of style too, haha.

The three dishes always ordered at Low Five

Low Five's signature dishes are pizza and pasta, but honestly, my order is basically fixed every time I come. Today, again, I got corn pizza + avocado kimchi fried rice + classic Caesar salad.

I keep telling myself I'll try the lasagna next time, but the kimchi fried rice is so good I can't give it up. I'm going to have to bring more friends along so I can finally try the lasagna someday.

They also offer imported beer, ade, and wine by the glass or bottle, so it seemed like a good spot for special occasions too. We ordered grapefruit ade and zero-sugar cola.

The grapefruit ade and cola came out right away. Whatever grapefruit syrup they use, it was sweet with a strong grapefruit flavor — really delicious.

Classic Caesar salad at Low Five

Not long after ordering, the classic Caesar salad came out first. I feel like I order this salad every time too. It's less of a healthy, light salad and more of a "the dressing is delicious" kind of salad.

The cheese was sprinkled generously, and the salad greens were all fresh. The dressing comes evenly tossed already, and it's tasty with a squeeze of lemon to taste.

Cream-sauce corn pizza, the Low Five signature

Next came the corn pizza. The other pizzas probably taste good too, but the corn pizza is so delicious that I just keep ordering corn pizza over and over. Every slice has whole corn kernels piled on top with plenty of cheese, giving it a salty, savory flavor.

With so many toppings and so much cheese, one bite gives you a really rich flavor. Instead of tomato sauce, it uses a cream sauce, which I think is why it's even softer with incredible depth of flavor. Rich, smooth cream sauce, whole corn, cheese, and a fluffy chewy dough — honestly, there's nothing not to love.

Today's MVP: avocado kimchi fried rice

Today's MVP is the avocado kimchi fried rice (gimchi bokkeumbap). Note that you can opt out of the avocado if it's not your thing.

The avocado was ripened absolutely perfectly, and combined with the fluffy omelette and the spicy, salty kimchi fried rice underneath, it's incredibly good. I said the same thing in my last post, but Low Five's kimchi fried rice here in Haenggung-dong is better than the kimchi fried rice at a famous pizza place in Busan. I really mean it.

That day, a woman dining alone was eating the kimchi fried rice, and I have to say — she really knows good food.

Why Low Five works as a Haenggung-dong date spot

I came back knowing it would be good, and once again I walked out patting my full stomach. The pizza, the salad, the kimchi fried rice — everything is genuinely delicious. Writing this post is making me hungry again, so I'll probably be back soon.
