Suwon Haenggung-dong weekend kids' meal, bacon cream pasta: Low Five

For the weekend, I wanted to spend some special, delicious time with my kid, so we took a trip out to Haenggung-dong in Suwon. Haenggung-dong is usually known as a date spot for couples, but this time we visited a Haenggung-dong Italian restaurant that the whole family can enjoy with a kid too: Low Five.

Low Five Sinpung is an eye-catching place with a red awning and an antique, vintage brick exterior that catches your eye as you walk by. Thanks to the exotic European-style facade, even before we went in my kid looked up with curious eyes and said, "Mom, this place is really pretty!" There are terrace seats set up out front too, which looked great for enjoying an outdoor mood on cooler days.

Stepping inside Low Five, you're greeted by a cozy, warm wood-tone interior and soft lighting. Thanks to the romantic atmosphere, it's a popular Haenggung-dong date course for couples, but the tables are spaced well apart and the wooden chairs are comfortable, so it felt completely fine and pleasant to visit with a kid too. I thought it was perfect not just for couples but for a special weekend meal out with a child as well.

How QR ordering and menu prices work at Low Five Sinpung

Every table at Low Five Sinpung has a QR code attached, so you check the menu and order directly from your smartphone. There was no need to ask for a separate paper menu — it was actually fun to look through photos of the pizzas and pastas together with my kid and pick out what we wanted to eat.

We sat at a nice window-side table chatting away, and before long our ordered dishes were brought out one by one. The table filled up with a corn pizza that stole the show visually, cream pasta topped with thick whole bacon, and a refreshing orange juice that my kid loves.

Low Five's bacon cream pasta, 16,000 won, comes topped generously with a big whole cut of bacon. When I lifted the noodles with my fork, a rich, thick cream sauce clung deeply to the pasta.

The sauce wasn't sharp or heavy but had a nutty, savory flavor, which worked for the adults' palates and had my kid repeatedly shouting "It's delicious!" while munching away happily. When I cut the crisp, moist bacon into bite-sized pieces and gave it along with the noodles, watching my kid diligently wielding a fork alone was reassuring.

As proof that both the adults and the kid finished their meal satisfied, I took a photo of the neatly emptied plates. Whenever we eat out with our kid, I always worry the menu might not suit their taste, but Low Five properly won over both adult and kid palates, and we cleaned up to the very last bite. Low Five was perfect from the atmosphere to the food to the service! Not only is it great for a warm couple's date, but it's also an ideal place to build warm memories over special, delicious food with a child.
