Gwacheon hair salon for layered cut repair and volume straightening: One and Only Hair

After coloring my hair ash at level 7, I had been growing it out with only layered cuts and no other treatments. But I was unhappy with the cut I got three months earlier. My hair is fairly curly, so I was also concerned that it looked puffier as it grew longer. What were the salon atmosphere and stylist service like?

When I walked in, I found the salon clean and comfortable.

The salon said it uses a Cesco air-perfume system and carries out regular disinfection. I found the scent pleasant while I was there, which made the visit comfortable.

The thing I liked most was the one-to-one stylist responsibility system. During this visit, the salon manager personally handled everything from the initial consultation through the shampoo, product application, treatment, and finishing styling.

How did they repair the broken-looking layered-cut lines?

I had a thorough consultation with the salon manager before the treatment. My existing hair had noticeably different amounts of weight in different sections, and there was not enough mid-length hair, so the cut line looked abruptly broken. We decided to connect these sections naturally with a cut first.

After trimming the broken line with the cut, the layers connected much more naturally.

Why did I choose volume straightening instead of a C-curl perm?

I debated between a C-curl perm and volume straightening until the end. The salon manager showed me the overall look, and after seeing the naturally connected line in person, I decided on volume straightening.

How was crown volume preserved during the volume straightening?

I was worried that volume straightening would make the hair at my crown lie too flat. To preserve root volume, the salon manager applied the product around the crown while leaving about 2 cm from the roots.

How did the frizz and layered lines change after the treatment?

The finished hair had its unruly curls smoothed into a sleek layered style. Before the treatment, it looked puffier as it grew longer, but afterward the lines connected naturally, which I was happy with.

The crown volume I had worried about also looked natural. The stylist connected the hair through my bangs, so it did not feel as if the hair was sticking to my face. To my eyes, my face even looked a little smaller.

This time, I was happy with the result of repairing the cut lines first and then smoothing the frizz. Being able to have the same stylist handle everything from the consultation through the finishing also makes me want to visit again.
