Suwon conveyor-belt sushi: 14 plates at Teukbyeolhan Chobap
In short
Teukbyeolhan Chobap is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant near Yeongtong Station in Suwon, Gyeonggi. After a 20-minute weekday-evening wait, we shared 14 sushi plates, udon, and soda, including flounder sushi, beef inari sushi, and futomaki. Verdict: fresh fish and generous choices make this a regular stop.

When I’m craving genuinely delicious food for a special occasion, there’s one place I head to without even a second of hesitation. It’s Teukbyeolhan Chobap (특별한 초밥), already famous as the king of conveyor-belt sushi near Yeongtong Station.
I’m pretty picky about sushi and sashimi, so most places don’t quite satisfy me, but this is a real Yeongtong gem I visit regularly for a recharge: from the freshness of the ingredients and seasoning of the rice to, especially!!!!, the value, there’s nothing to fault. (I even go on my birthday ㅜ)
This time too, the two of us thoroughly demolished 14 plates of sushi, udon, and soda!

It’s in Yeongtong’s central shopping district, so it’s close enough for an easy stroll from Yeongtong Station. Parking is available in the building too, which means absolutely no parking stress even if you drive over after work—love that!

Weekday-evening wait and seating
We arrived right around 7 p.m., weekday dinner peak time. Sure enough, there was a wait as soon as we got to the door. About seven parties were ahead of us, but turnover is fairly quick with conveyor-belt sushi, so we waited around 20 minutes and got seated right away. A wait is standard at peak times here, so I recommend coming a little early!

The restaurant is divided into counter seats in front of the belt and table seating. The tidy layout draws plenty of office workers for lunch or solo meals after work, and it’s also just right for a date.

I was shown to a table. At the tables, you don’t use the belt; you order on a tablet and the food is brought to you. If you don’t want a table, let them know beforehand and they’ll seat you elsewhere!!

Sides and udon before the sushi
On a tray at one side of the table, pickled scallions, pickled ginger, soy sauce, and fresh wasabi were kept very neatly and hygienically in glass jars. I set out only as much as I wanted, then it was time to really begin the feast!

First, I soothed my stomach with a warm, savory sip of miso soup. It wasn’t salty and had such a deep flavor that I wanted refills all meal long ㅜ

Then the udon we ordered as a side arrived. Honestly, I usually don’t expect much from sushi-restaurant udon and order it just to sip the broth, but this place is quietly an udon gem! It’s generously loaded with crisp, nutty tenkasu (tempura bits), so the broth’s umami is no joke. The noodles are springy and chewy too; taking a bite between rich pieces of sushi feels like the grease gets washed right away. An absolute must-order side.

The sushi we had to order
The sushi started arriving in earnest. From sweet-spicy, umami-packed seasoned shrimp to steak sushi with a seared aroma and bursting juices, every single one just hit the spot ㅜ

Flounder sushi
My absolute favorite that I always make sure to get here is the flounder sushi. I think a place has to do basic fresh fish well to be truly good at sushi, and this flounder has that wonderfully chewy yet springy texture, with zero fishiness. The more you chew, the more a gentle sweetness comes through. The rice is pressed just right too, so I kept reaching for it.

Beef inari sushi
Another hidden cheat code is the beef inari sushi! It’s not on the printed menu but appears on the tablet menu—a real insider pick. A mountain of seared, smoky beef topping comes piled into a salty-sweet fried tofu pouch, and when you eat it in one bite, the tofu juices and meat juices mingle into a flavor that makes you furrow your brow in pure truth… Even people who aren’t great with raw fish will demolish this.

Giant futomaki
And you absolutely can’t skip the giant futomaki (thick sushi roll), about the size of my fist. Even in the photo, you can see it’s packed so full that it’s hard to fit into one bite, right? Tender fish, egg, crisp fried bits, and crunchy vegetables all come together beautifully. Just one fills your whole mouth—it’s ridiculously satisfying. The ingredient balance is truly excellent. Top value..

Fourteen sushi plates cleared between two people
Revealing my sushi memorial photos... We were so busy eating that the two of us neatly cleared udon, canned drinks, and 14 plates of sushi, successfully building a tower of plates! Every piece of fish was thick and fresh, and the value for the visuals and quality was excellent too, so every visit makes me understand why it’s called the No. 1 conveyor-belt sushi spot near Yeongtong Station ㅡㅠ
