My husband and I were wandering near Suwon Station looking for a place to eat when we spotted the sign for Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch, a well-known Suwon Station BBQ spot! I had good memories of eating well at another branch before, so we walked right in without a second thought!

It was dinner time and there were quite a few customers, but the place was so spacious we could still settle in comfortably. The smell of pork belly sizzling on the stone grill filled the whole restaurant and my stomach started growling loudly! Today I'll tell you about the delicious meat we enjoyed here~
Inside Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch: the dining room and what comes with the meal
Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch is a BBQ restaurant with a spacious interior and generous spacing between tables. My husband and I went for dinner, and we could feel the lively energy from the entrance, which put us in a good mood right away haha.

The interior is really spacious and clean, isn't it? With generous table spacing, it was perfect for eating without feeling cramped. Seeing how the restaurant was kept clean and grease-free was reassuring!

Once we sat down, the basic side dishes started being neatly set up~ From sauces that go well with meat to fresh vegetables, everything came out generously, and my appetite was already kicking in haha.

This place in particular uses a stone grill, and the visual itself was something else! Kimchi and tofu were already placed on it, so it was completely ready for grilling meat! The basic noodles that came out were also spicy and quite tasty!

They cleansed the palate so well that my hand kept reaching for them between bites of meat haha.
How does samgyeopsal grilled by staff on a stone plate taste?
At Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch, the staff grill the samgyeopsal (pork belly) directly on the stone plate for you. Finally, the pork belly we ordered arrived! The bright pink color of the meat looked so fresh that our expectations were high even before it was grilled haha.

Since the staff grilled it for us directly, we could just relax, chat, and wait!

The sizzling sound of the meat cooking on the stone plate really stirred up our appetite! Grilled by an expert's hand, there was no chance for the juices to escape.

We tried a nicely browned piece first, dipped lightly in salt! The moment I bit into it, a savory flavor spread through my mouth, and the texture was really chewy haha.

Dipped generously in the house special sauce, the savory flavor came alive even more! The meat itself was so delicious that no matter what combination we tried, it felt like a mouthful of happiness haha.
Cheese rice cake wraps with scallion salad and mountain leek

One of the specialties at Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch is the grilled cheese and rice cake wraps! Seeing this kind of setup at a BBQ restaurant was surprising, and I couldn't wait to grill it and try it with the meat haha.

We tried wrapping the cheese and rice cake grilled on the stone plate together with the meat! The savoriness of the cheese and the chewiness of the rice cake were a perfect match with the pork belly haha.

With meat and cheese filling my mouth, it was a taste that got more delightful the more I chewed!

My husband also said this combination was unusual but kept pulling him back for more, and he really enjoyed it haha.

Rolled up in mountain leek, it added a tangy-sweet flavor that kept us coming back for more without getting tired of it! With so many kinds of side dishes, mixing and matching was really fun!

I'd also recommend piling on plenty of crunchy scallion salad and taking a big bite! The spicy-tangy seasoning cut through the fattiness of the meat and made it very clean-tasting.

Topping it with pungent chili and wasabi to finish cleanly was also good, and it's also excellent with grilled kimchi!

The staff were also kind throughout, so we got to spend the whole meal feeling well taken care of and enjoyed our time there haha.

Our visit to Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch, a well-known Suwon Station BBQ spot, was more satisfying than expected! Between the quality of the meat and unique combinations like the cheese rice cake wraps, we got to enjoy pork belly in a much more varied way haha.
