Gwangalli yakiniku in Busan: 7 side dishes and egg sauce at Bisyoku
In short
Bisyoku Gwangan Branch is a hanwoo (Korean beef) yakiniku restaurant in Gwangalli, Suyeong, Busan, known for its Japanese-style interior and a falling-snow effect staged 365 days a year. On a two-night, three-day Busan trip, a couple came for an early dinner and ordered the Oishi Set (400g, 99,000 won), eating it with seven side dishes including scallion salad, pickled scallions and shredded radish, plus yuzu salt and a house egg sauce. They missed the snow show times, but the atmosphere and the beef alone made Bisyoku Gwangan a solid Gwangalli date spot.

My husband and I — both Incheon natives, and I'm a newlywed there — just got back from a 2-night-3-day trip to Busan together, our first proper trip in a while! And on this trip we found a place that was totally our style from the vibe alone. It's Bisyoku Gwangan Branch, a well-known Gwangalli restaurant. Bisyoku Gwangan is a spot where you can enjoy yakiniku in a space full of Japanese atmosphere, and it's especially famous as the restaurant where it "snows" 365 days a year.

Not just the meat but the atmosphere too was special enough that I'd recommend this as a Gwangalli date course! Here's my fresh review. Let's get into it, kkogo!
- A Gwangalli, Busan restaurant where it snows 365 days a year
- A hanwoo yakiniku spot full of Japanese atmosphere
- Snow photo zone — weekdays 18:30, 20:30 / weekends lunch 13:00, evenings on the hour 18:00–21:00

What is the interior of Bisyoku Gwangan like?
The moment we stepped into Bisyoku Gwangan, the interior and mood were exactly my style! The lighting is dim overall, which makes it feel cozy while still packed with atmosphere!

With quiet Japanese songs playing in the background, it genuinely felt like we'd taken a trip to Japan!

Every table has its own individual grill, plates, spoon, chopsticks, scissors, and tongs set up, and the black pig figure you see up front is actually the call bell — just press it if you need anything! It makes a pig sound when you press it, so don't be startled, haha.

The 2nd floor is laid out like a corridor with wide spacing between tables, so it's nice for relaxing without feeling cramped.

What time does the falling-snow show run?
And you can't talk about Bisyoku Gwangan without mentioning the falling-snow effect! It's the famous Gwangalli yakiniku restaurant known for "snowing" 365 days a year. The snow show runs at set times — twice on weekdays, at 18:30 and 20:30, and on weekends at lunch (13:00) and every hour on the hour from 18:00 to 21:00 in the evening.
If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend checking the schedule before you book or arrive! We had somewhere to be afterward, so we came in for an early dinner and sadly missed the snow show 🥲 We didn't get to see the snow, but the interior atmosphere alone made the mood so good that I thought it was perfect for a Gwangalli date course!✨️

We ordered the Oishi Set, the combination that appealed to us most! The Oishi ("delicious") yakiniku set (₩99,000) comes with 300g premium sirloin + 100g sang-loin + a small portion of grilling vegetables.
Which side dishes come with the meal?
Bisyoku Gwangan sets out a spread of default side dishes, and I loved how varied they were as accompaniments to the meat!

The scallion salad had an appealing tangy flavor,

the pickled green onions were crunchy with a salty-sweet savoriness that I loved,

and the shredded radish had a spicy seasoning that kept pulling me back for more!

The radish was well-fermented, crunchy, with a nicely funky flavor.

The pickled cucumbers have a fairly strong signature aroma, but they're crunchy and tangy and refreshed the palate between bites, and the pickled peppers were spicy but not as salty as I expected, pairing well with the meat.

Yakiniku Oishi Set 400g for 99,000 won
The Oishi Set came with vegetables to grill alongside the meat — king oyster mushroom, eggplant, and zucchini — good for pairing between bites of meat. The menu says it's a "small portion" of grilling vegetables, but the variety and quantity were satisfying!

Especially the king oyster mushroom and zucchini — grilling them released so much vegetable juice, genuinely delicious, ㅠㅠ mushroom plus meat is a flavorless-failure-proof combo 🤍✨️

I don't usually like eggplant, but grilled it was pretty good, and I love onions so those were great as always! The shishito peppers are spicier than expected, so if you're not great with spice I'd recommend cutting them up first!
Take a look at the gorgeous meat visuals too✨️✨️

Yuzu salt, wasabi and the house egg sauce
The first piece of meat they grilled for us, we tried with the recommended yuzu salt and wasabi combo.

One bite in, the juiciness was insane! You could really taste the flavor of the meat itself, and adding the subtle scent of yuzu salt with wasabi kept it from feeling greasy — it went down clean.
Second, I dipped it in the special egg sauce, and this egg sauce is genuinely a magic touch✨️

The sweet-savory-salty umami was next level, and paired with the juice-packed beef it was truly the ultimate combo!

Staff grilled the first two pieces for us, and after that we grilled it ourselves. It was nice being able to cook it to our own preferred doneness at our own pace.
Mixing your own bites of hanwoo
There were so many accompaniments that we got to try lots of different combos. Now let's get into some serious eating!
- Scallion salad dipped in egg sauce, paired with mushroom, in one bite
- Pickled peppers with mushroom, together in one bite
- Shredded radish with wasabi and shishito pepper, in one bite
- Onion with egg sauce and wasabi, in one bite

The pickled green onions are so good that they're delicious even eaten with just onion, no meat!

Mixing and matching like this so precisely, we finished off another proper feast today! 🙌🙌

Verdict: is Bisyoku Gwangan a good Gwangalli date spot?
Overall, Bisyoku Gwangan had great meat, but the atmosphere was truly the memorable part. The Japanese-style wooden building, yellow lanterns, dim lighting, and Japanese music all combined to give a real taste of Japan!
I'd especially recommend this to anyone looking for a Gwangalli restaurant where you want to enjoy the atmosphere as much as the food! Anyone visiting Busan who wants a special dinner like we did! Anyone who wants to enjoy Gwangalli yakiniku on a date!
And on top of all that, the falling-snow effect adds a different kind of fun compared to an ordinary yakiniku restaurant. We didn't get to enjoy it ourselves since we had somewhere to be, haha... but visiting with my husband while traveling, with such a good atmosphere and delicious meat, it was a memorable meal from our trip. If you're looking for a Gwangalli restaurant with great atmosphere, Bisyoku Gwangan is worth a visit!
