In short

1998 Myeongcafe (1998명카페) is a large two-floor café on Juwon-ro in Seomyeon, Seocheon-gun, Chungnam. During a trip to the Seocheon seaside with a friend, the writer took out four drinks (an iced café latte, a hot americano, a ginger latte and a chamomile tea) and browsed the owner's handmade crafts and the nature view through the big windows. With easy parking and friendly prices, 1998 Myeongcafe is a good place for a quiet break on a Seocheon trip.

A few days ago I wanted to see the open sea, so I took a spontaneous day trip to Seocheon with a friend.

Inside 1998 Myeongcafe and the outdoor terrace

1998 Myeongcafe spans two floors and is much bigger and more comfortable than I expected, with a cute interior and an outdoor terrace that's perfect for zoning out.

When you open the door, you're surprised by how spacious and pleasant the two floors are. My time was tight, so I couldn't stay and have my drinks inside, which was a pity.

Handmade crafts by the owner

There are cute little crafts all around the café, and browsing them is surprisingly fun. The owner apparently made them by hand, so clearly a golden touch!

Four takeout drinks for the Seocheon road trip

To sip in the car through the rest of our Seocheon itinerary, I ordered four drinks to go: an iced café latte, a hot americano, a ginger latte and a chamomile tea.
