Han River view restaurant in Misa-dong, Hanam: abalone pasta, Bokkeriu
In short
Bokkeriu is a Western restaurant with Han River views on Misa-dong-ro in Hanam, Gyeonggi. A married couple visited for their anniversary and ordered the steak set for two, which came as a course of seafood tomato pasta with abalone, Korean beef striploin cooked medium, and Basque cheesecake. Between the abalone in the pasta and the tender, sinew-free Korean beef steak, Bokkeriu is worth booking for anniversaries and family gatherings.

It had been a while since my husband and I had a proper date, so for our anniversary I wanted somewhere special. This place is a well-known Hanam date spot with a peek of the Han River, haha! Here's my review of Bokkeriu 😄
Where is Bokkeriu? Hours and parking in Misa-dong, Hanam
Bokkeriu is located at 102-19 Misa-dong-ro, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and is open Tuesday through Sunday, 11:30–22:00. Break time is 15:30–17:30, last orders are at 14:00 and 20:30, and it's closed every Monday.
Parking is available — there are spaces below the restaurant and a larger lot behind it.
Bokkeriu's exterior and the garden facing the Han River
There's parking both below the restaurant and a big lot behind it, so you really don't need to worry about parking at all.
There's a spot out front landscaped like a little park, which is lovely for sitting and relaxing after your meal. The Han River is right there too, so the view is great. There aren't many restaurants in Hanam with a view like this — I really feel like I found a gem, haha.
Inside Bokkeriu: seating and the open kitchen
Bokkeriu is on the 2nd floor, so you walk up a staircase to get in.
It's an open kitchen, so you can see everything, and it was clearly kept clean and well-managed, which I liked.
There are plenty of tables with generous spacing between them, so it feels open and airy. That's even better with the garden and Han River view stretching out in front.

There are tables for 4 and for 6, so it works well for family gatherings and also as a Hanam date spot.

Each table comes set with a plate, cutlery, and a water glass, all neatly arranged.
Near the entrance there's a restroom and a waiting area, both kept very clean. Overall you can tell they put a lot of care into managing the space.
What's on the menu at Bokkeriu

There are value-conscious set menus as well as an à la carte lineup of pasta, salads, risotto, pizza, and steak. There's a wide drink selection too, and for dessert, Basque cheesecake and tiramisu. Check the photos for the full menu!
How we ordered the steak set for two
We ordered the steak set for two. For pasta we chose the seafood tomato pasta, for drinks chamomile tea and Sprite, and had the steak cooked medium.

Starters: bread, ricotta cheese salad and corn soup
First came pre-meal bread with butter, a ricotta cheese salad, and corn soup.

The ricotta cheese was so soft and nutty that it was delicious with the salad. The salad vegetables were also really fresh and easy to eat.
The bread seemed lightly toasted in olive oil — crisp outside, moist inside. The butter was nicely salty, so spread on the bread it tasted just right.
The corn soup still had some corn texture to it, which made it fun to eat, with a sweet, nutty flavor.

Seafood tomato pasta with abalone
Next came the seafood tomato pasta, and it was packed with seafood. It even had abalone in it, lol. I'd never seen pasta with abalone before, and the quality was really excellent.

Shrimp, squid, mussels, abalone — the combination of all this seafood with tomato had a great savory depth, the kind of flavor both adults and kids would enjoy.

Korean beef striploin steak cooked medium
The steak came out as Korean beef striploin.

I ordered it medium but it looked closer to medium rare — which we actually love, so it worked out even better, lol.

The meat was full of juices. You really have to go to a place that knows what it's doing to get steak this tender and tasty — and this place really knows what it's doing.
The meat itself must have been high quality, because it was tender and cooked so well that it was delicious with just a bit of salt, and also delicious dipped in whole grain mustard.

There wasn't a single sinewy or tough bit. The garnish included zucchini, asparagus, onion, mushroom, and sweet pumpkin — the onion texture in particular was great. It was cooked just right, with a bit of crunch and sweet vegetable juice, exactly how an onion should be.

Basque cheesecake to finish
Once we finished eating, the staff came to clear the plates and told us they'd bring dessert.

The Basque cheesecake arrived with Lotus biscuit powder dusted lightly on top.

The inside was really moist and dense — a classic gooey Basque cheesecake. You've got to order this for dessert, lol.
Verdict: is Bokkeriu good for anniversaries and family gatherings?
As a Hanam date spot, I genuinely, wholeheartedly recommend Bokkeriu.
