Hi, it's Mingdung haha :) With the weather being what it is lately, I've been craving a proper meal that's still easy on the stomach. Now that I'm 30 weeks pregnant, things feel a little more bloated than usual, so I went out with my mom for a real, tidy Korean meal!!
I searched around for Bucheon restaurant recommendations, Korean food, looking for somewhere clean with a decent atmosphere, and I found a place that also seemed perfect for a group gathering :)

First impressions of Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang in Bucheon
My first impression when I arrived was that it felt tidy and clean. Even the exterior had warm wood tones mixed with a modern vibe, and I thought it would be perfect for a Bucheon Korean set meal gathering!

These days I really pay attention not just to taste but also to the atmosphere and cleanliness of a place, and it felt well-kept from the entrance onward, which already put me in a good mood before eating :)

Is the interior good for group gatherings?
Once inside, the interior was bigger and more comfortable than I expected. The space was well divided, making it easy to sit and chat quietly over a meal. It looked more than suitable for coming with friends like us, or bringing your parents along. In fact, I saw quite a few families and groups having gatherings there!

Ordering the Tteuranchae Bapsang set for two plus grilled mackerel
We ordered the Tteuranchae Bapsang set for two with grilled mackerel added! Looking at the menu, there were so many mouthwatering Korean dishes, all built around a main dish with a generous spread of side dishes, so it seemed impossible to go wrong with anything. We wanted to taste a variety of things, so we ordered a combination of the signature main dishes that suited a Korean set-meal spread :)

Side dish and rice refills, and barley rice mixed with gochujang
We could get more of any side dish or rice that ran low! I mixed gochujang (red chili paste) into the barley rice and gave it a good stir — seriously so good T_T. They kept refilling the extra side dishes without letting anything run out, so it seemed like a great place to eat until you're fully satisfied!

A full table spread and the kimchi cheonggukjang
Before long, the dishes we ordered started arriving one by one, and in no time the table was filled with a tidy, colorful spread. It was so pretty and appetizing that my mom and I were busy taking photos haha. Each side dish came out plated with real care, which made me think again how much my parents would love this if I brought them here :)
The savory cheonggukjang was so good too! It was kimchi cheonggukjang, and I could've easily finished a whole bowl of rice with it T_T

How was the grilled mackerel?
The first thing that caught my eye was the grilled mackerel, crispy outside and moist inside. At home, grilling fish takes some real determination because of the smell, so it was so nice to enjoy fish grilled with a hint of charcoal smoke at a proper restaurant. I picked out the bones and piled a big chunk onto the warm stone-pot rice — the savory, salty flavor spread through my whole mouth. There was no fishy taste at all, so even people who usually don't like fish would probably enjoy this!

What side dishes come with the set?
Beyond the main dishes, the basic side dishes that came with the meal also felt made with care. From seasonal namul (seasoned vegetables) to kimchi, pickled dishes, and stews, the seasoning wasn't too strong, just right to bring out the flavor of the main dishes! There's so much heavily seasoned food around these days, so eating something this gentle and healthy for a change made me feel properly cared for!

Does Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang work for a Bucheon group meal?
After finishing the meal, my stomach felt comfortable and I had a nice sense of fullness. Both the value and the composition were great, so I think I'll be coming back often whenever I'm craving a tidy home-style spread!
If you're in the Bucheon area looking for a tidy, generous Korean set meal, or a Bucheon restaurant good for bringing your parents, this could be a great choice to try at least once. I'd recommend it as a clean, reliable spot for a Bucheon Korean set-meal gathering!
