Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi (제주본참숯불갈비) is a charcoal galbi (marinated rib BBQ) restaurant at 31 Wonnohyeongnam 1-gil, Jeju-si, in Nohyeong-dong near Jeju Airport. It is open Monday to Sunday, 16:00-23:00, and parking in the Withers lot is free for 2 hours.

The inside of Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi is spacious and clean, which I loved haha. We came for a slightly early dinner and there were already quite a lot of customers!! Lots of Jeju locals and tourists alike. It must be a real good spot ❤️❤️ And if locals love it, it's the best of the best!!

Is parking easy at Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi?

You can use the Withers parking lot, and the restaurant even has a helpful parking map posted. Parking is stressful everywhere, so I was glad Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi has it well sorted 🚘

What did we order at Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi?

We ordered the raw galbi (saenggalbi, unmarinated pork ribs), which I'd heard is very popular. Here's the menu~~ ✌️

Endless side dishes and steamed egg with flying fish roe

Before the galbi is grilled, the side dishes are set out first. Wow.. they just kept coming??? haha There were so many tasty ones that I got really excited 😆 And there was even a soft steamed egg topped with flying fish roe!!

Now the charcoal has been brought in~~ Shall we grill some delicious meat????

Do the staff grill the raw galbi for you?

Yes, a staff member grilled the raw galbi for us so it was easy to eat. When it arrived, the quality was great, as you'd expect from Jeju pork, and you can really trust it 👍

They grilled the meat nicely and got it ready to eat! It was so comfortable to just sit back and eat 🩷

The meat is getting golden brown~~ They scored the rib bone part like that so it grills well haha

We like big pieces of meat, and they cut it to exactly the right size, thank you 😍 The meat looked so tender!! Even looking at it now I want to eat it again haha

Which side dishes go best with the raw galbi?

We ate the raw galbi in five combinations with sides like lettuce, seasoned perilla leaves, braised aged kimchi and sesame oil dip. Ta-da!! Of course we had to try a piece of well-grilled galbi with all those tasty sides 🥳‼️

• Lettuce + raw galbi + onion + seasoned chili pepper
• Raw galbi + sesame oil dip
• Raw galbi + lettuce salad (sangchu jaeraegi, seasoned lettuce)

• Seasoned perilla leaves + raw galbi + garlic + seasoned chili pepper
• Braised aged kimchi (mugeunji jjim) + raw galbi

Wow.. I loved being able to eat it so many different ways haha Every combo was good, so they just kept going down 👏☺️ If you ask which was the best, I can't pick…!!! Each one was really great 👍❤️ The best part was how tender the meat was, which made me really happy haha

Is the bibim naengmyeon at Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi a must-order?

If you go to Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi, definitely try the bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold buckwheat noodles). The sauce was so good that even I, who don't love naengmyeon that much, inhaled it haha

The weather's so hot these days, so cold noodles are perfect, right~? I'm not really a naengmyeon person, but the sauce was so tasty I want to go back just for it. Put a piece of raw galbi on top and it's 100 times better, so be sure to try it together ❤️

The moment we walked into Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi in Nohyeong-dong near Jeju Airport, there were so many locals and tourists that it felt like a proper good spot 😆 And sure enough, the meat quality was great and the sides were varied and each one delicious, making the meat even better when eaten together 💙 The bibim naengmyeon we had as our meal was better than expected too, a taste I keep thinking about haha If you go to Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi, try it with the meat~ I recommend it if you're looking for a real Jeju favorite haha
