Euljiro 1-ga snack bar takeout before the dinner rush: Hyeonseoni-ne
In short
Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch is a gimbap and tteokbokki snack bar one minute on foot from Exit 3 of Euljiro 1-ga Station, beside Cheonggyecheon in Jung-gu, Seoul. Arriving before the dinner rush, the writer watched gimbap being rolled in the open kitchen and took away the Hyeonseon combo set, with the fritters fried a second time before packing and a fish cake broth with a fish cake skewer added in. For gimbap, tteokbokki, sundae and fritters in one bag, the Hyeonseoni-ne combo set takeout is the answer.

Today's spot: the top snack bar near Euljiro 1-ga Station!! Introducing Hyeonseoni-ne Tteokbokki, Cheonggye Instant Branch ^^ It's just a 1-minute walk from Exit 3 of Euljiro 1-ga Station, so the access is great haha

Where is Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch and how do you order?
Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch, a Cheonggyecheon tteokbokki favorite, has the road address 112 Namdaemun-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, with the lot address Namdaemun-ro 1-ga 22-10.

Before going in, I saw the menu types and prices for Hyeonseoni-ne Tteokbokki posted outside! It's broadly divided into à la carte, set menu, and instant menu ^^

Here's a shot of the entrance ~ there's a kiosk right to the left, so you can order there ㅎ

Inside Hyeonseoni-ne: seating and the self-serve corner
Here's a peek at the inside of Hyeonseoni-ne Tteokbokki Cheonggye Instant Branch ~ there are more tables than this so don't worry haha
Inside Hyeonseoni-ne Tteokbokki there are side plates, spoons, chopsticks, paper cups, pickled radish and more set out for self-service ~

Gimbap rolled by hand before the dinner rush
I visited before the real dinner rush hit, and they were rolling gimbap (seaweed rice roll) ~ the hand movements are super fast, and the gimbap comes in nice bite-sized pieces that taste great too lol

They cut it into these easy-to-eat pieces and pack it into containers for sale ^_^

There's also a draft beer machine, so pairing beer with tteokbokki, sundae (Korean blood sausage) and fritters is an insane combo ~

They're also making fish cake broth, and it's super clean and tasty ^^ A refreshing seafood broth, good stuff ~!

The open kitchen and picking a spice level
Since it's an open kitchen you can watch them cook, and the kitchen was super clean ~ tteokbokki comes in spicy, mild, and medium, so keep that in mind ^^

The sundae is chapssal sundae (glutinous rice blood sausage) and they have organ meat too, so they'll mix it in if you want ^^

Set, instant and single-dish menus at Hyeonseoni-ne
Here's a shot of Hyeonseoni-ne Tteokbokki's set menu types and prices ~

Here's a shot of the instant tteokbokki menu types and prices ~ orderable for 2 or more people!

Here's a shot of the à la carte menu types and prices ~ there are so many à la carte options it's fun just choosing haha

They also sell a wide variety of drinks and alcohol, which is great ~!
There are even disposable aprons thoughtfully set out!
Since you can eat instant tteokbokki, every table has an induction burner ㅎ.ㅎ

Why the fritters are fried a second time for takeout
They keep the fritters fried up deliciously in super clean oil ~ I really recommend the fritters at Hyeonseoni-ne Tteokbokki!

For takeout, they packed everything into this pretty branded Hyeonseoni-ne Tteokbokki shopping bag ㅎ.ㅎ
For the fritters, they thoughtfully fried them one more time before packing and gave me a container too ^^ I picked from 5 options: gimmari, fried squid, vegetable fritter, fried mandu, fried sweet potato!
Inside the container there's dipping soy sauce for the fritters and salt for the sundae ㅎ.ㅎ

What comes in the Hyeonseon combo set takeout
When I ordered the Hyeonseon combo set, this is how they packed it for me ~ being able to enjoy gimbap, tteokbokki, sundae, and fritters all together is just so great~?!

They even threw in fish cake broth with skewered fish cake — fantastic ~~~~~

I'd asked for the sundae mixed with organ meat, so they packed in plenty of liver, lung and more haha. Since it's chapssal sundae, it's super chewy and delicious!

The gimbap was packed really neatly too, and since it even has fish cake inside, it's hearty and tasty ^^ They're mini gimbap but so good!

The tteokbokki has reduced down really well, right~? The sauce has soaked all the way in for a fantastic taste. The rice cakes are super chewy and the seasoning isn't harsh but still tasty ^^ If you're looking for a snack bar favorite near Euljiro and Cheonggyecheon, I highly recommend Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch!
