Why I bought Gapyeong glamping meat at Ari Chuksan in Cheongpyeong

I found Ari Chuksan (아리축산) while searching for a good butcher near our glamping site in Gapyeong. The owners and staff were all so kind, and above all the meat is really good...! It had been a while since I had such a hearty, delicious meal!!!

Grilling meat at the glamping site with my younger sister, we said "Wow... the meat does all the work here" several times. Besides beef, pork and lamb, Ari Chuksan has lots of vegetables, meal kits and everything else you need for camping or glamping, so you don't need a separate supermarket trip. One stop and you're done!

Where is Ari Chuksan in Cheongpyeong, and is there parking?

Ari Chuksan is open daily 09:00-20:50 and you can park in front of the shop. The address is 23 Gangbyeon-ro, Cheongpyeong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi, South Korea (1st floor), a 1-minute walk from NH Hanaro Mart Cheongpyeong branch.

You just park like this, right in front of the shop. We were leaving straight after buying the meat, so we parked here!

What does Ari Chuksan sell?

Ari Chuksan sells not only meat but also all kinds of vegetables. Pa-chae (shredded green onion salad), which goes great with meat, is ₩500, and they give you salt for free too.

They have eggs too, and lots of different kinds of meat.

Hanwoo (Korean beef): 2++ grilling cuts, soup beef and tomahawk

For beef, the 2++ hanwoo (Korean beef) is great value for money,

and besides grill cuts there's plenty more: soup beef, jangjorim (soy-braised beef), bulgogi, tomahawk and so on.

Pork cuts: pork jowl, pork back fat strip, pork neck and pork belly

The pork is hugely varied too: hangjeongsal (pork jowl), gabrisal (pork rib-end), moksal (pork neck), samgyeopsal (pork belly) and more, so you can buy lots of different cuts.

Ari Chuksan's handmade marinated meats

Ari Chuksan especially has a wide range of seasoned meats: gochujang jeyuk (spicy pork), soy-sauce bulgogi pork, beef bulgogi, LA galbi, giant pork cutlet-style grills, tonkatsu and more. They make all the marinades by hand, which makes them even tastier.

High Pork, auction-bought hanwoo and lamb

The pork at Ari Chuksan is High Pork, and the beef is hanwoo they buy at auction and butcher themselves, so the quality is excellent. They also have lamb chops and lamb skewers, so people who like lamb over pork or beef can shop here too!

They have lots of vegetables too, and they're cheaper than at the supermarket!

Ari Chuksan lamb chops grilled at a Gapyeong glamping site: are they gamey?

We hadn't had lamb chops in a while and wanted some, so we bought them at Ari Chuksan. The lamb chops come with olive oil and lamb skewer sauce, so you don't need to buy sauce separately.

There were only two of us, so we didn't buy a lot, just what we could eat.

They had asparagus too, so we grilled it with the lamb chops.

The moment I tried the lamb chops I went "Wow... so good..." and kept eating. My sister doesn't like lamb chops because of the gamey smell, but maybe because the meat itself is so good, Ari Chuksan's lamb chops had no gamey smell at all! We enjoyed them so much.

Extra pork neck and bibim noodles to finish the BBQ

After the lamb chops we wanted more, so we grilled Ari Chuksan's pork neck. The quality of the pork neck is on another level too. We ate it with bibim noodles (spicy cold noodles)! The pork neck itself was so tender and just delicious~~~~!! Really so satisfied!!

Ari Chuksan in Cheongpyeong also does delivery for purchases of ₩70,000 or more. They also run daily events.

• Friday-Saturday weekend storm sale: pork belly, pork neck and more at lower prices

The meat itself is so delicious that next time I book a stay around Gapyeong or Cheongpyeong, I'm going to stop by Ari Chuksan for meat!! Highly recommend!!
