Bucheon Korean restaurant with a solo set menu: Umuljip Bucheon

Today I visited Umuljip Bucheon, a well-known restaurant in Sinjungdong, Bucheon~

I found it by chance while walking near Sinjungdong Station and thought it looked so pretty that I remember going there with my parents~

They have a great one-person hanjeongsik (full table setting) option~ It was a satisfying meal!

A courtyard well and stone wall: what is the atmosphere like?

I stopped by today because I wanted some tasty hot stone rice, all by myself~

The moment you step through the entrance, the mood completely shifts! It feels relaxed and refreshing

I honestly felt like I'd arrived at a travel destination~

Sitting here and eating hot stone rice must taste amazing, don't you think

It really does feel like a distinctive well-side setting!

An interior that makes you feel like you've wandered into an old village well! It's really well maintained too!

Umuljip Bucheon menu and prices

Here's the menu. I ordered the solo hanjeongsik: Korean beef brisket hot pot (spicy tomato) + bracken fern and shiitake hot stone rice. It's ₩29,000.

There are also couple sets and 4-person sets

There's also a grilled beef brisket feast set! I'll have to come back for that one someday

The country of origin is clearly listed too!

Seating and restrooms: is Umuljip Bucheon comfortable for eating alone?

I sat where I could see the floor-to-ceiling windows well and ordered at the kiosk

Going further in, there are spacious seats like this too

They're screened off with curtains so you can eat comfortably!

And such a satisfying restroom!

It's separated by gender and located inside the restaurant, which makes it convenient and satisfying to use~

Stone wall decor catches your eye all around the restaurant!

While you're seated waiting, they bring you barley tea, which has a nutty flavor~

How the beef brisket spicy tomato hot pot and shiitake hot stone rice taste

Ta-da! The Korean beef brisket (spicy tomato) hot pot + bracken fern shiitake hot stone rice arrived!!

Isn't it so pretty? Both the hot stone rice and hot pot come in generous portions with plenty of ingredients~ Can I really finish it all??

Spicy tomato hot pot with Korean beef brisket! This was my first time trying a tomato hot pot, and I picked it because the spicy version sounded delicious

Shiitake and bracken fern hot stone rice! I love that it's loaded with plenty of bracken fern and shiitake~ You can feel the freshness of each ingredient

They transfer the hot stone rice to a separate bowl so I can enjoy the crispy scorched rice later~

Tidy side dishes — doenjang-seasoned peppers, kimchi, gungchae (stem lettuce), and salted squid, haha

They also bring hot pot sauce, hot stone rice sauce, and a raw egg. You can dip the hot pot in the raw egg as a sauce, or pour it straight into the hot pot

Shiitake mushroom and bracken fern give off a rich, savory aroma and flavor

And then the spicy Korean beef brisket on top! Dipped in raw egg, it turns soft and full of umami

The tomato in it works really well! I ate every last bit of the tomato too

Eat through the side dishes and the hot pot, and by then the scorched rice is ready~

Warm scorched rice really soothes your stomach~ I get why parents love this place. It's so easy on the stomach!! I finished everything happily~!
