Boulangerie Tan, Hyundai Department Store KINTEX is the KINTEX branch of Boulangerie Tan (블랑제리 탄), famous for its original shop in Paju Chorongkkot Village. Anyone who loves bread has probably heard of it. I liked the Paju main shop so much that I used to go there often, and now I can find it at Hyundai Department Store KINTEX too.

I often stop by after my little one's culture center class. We tried the samples, took photos, and had a happy time for both eyes and mouth.

Boulangerie Tan is in the basement 1 food hall of Hyundai Department Store KINTEX, open from 10:30 to 20:00.

It's a handy spot to drop by while shopping, and really convenient for grabbing bread to go on your way home.

I don't have to go all the way to the Paju main shop to get my favorite bread, so I end up peeking in every time I come to KINTEX. Bread lovers will probably relate: I go in saying I'll just look around, and come out with both hands full, haha.

I heard that Boulangerie Tan uses Lescure butter. Maybe that's why everything tasted a bit more upscale to me. There's always a reason when something tastes this good.

What are the atmosphere and samples like at Boulangerie Tan KINTEX?

Since it's inside a department store food hall, the whole place feels clean and pleasant. The breads are laid out so temptingly that browsing is half the fun.

What I liked most was the samples! They cut them in big pieces, which felt so generous. I could taste a bit of everything and choose slowly. A bakery really is best with a friend. When it's just me and my little one, we grab things in a rush and leave, but this day a friend came along, so we chatted, took photos and enjoyed it at a relaxed pace.

The Fritz Coffee poster is so cute. The coffee probably tastes great too! I'd already had two cups that morning so I couldn't try it, but next time I'll enjoy it with the bread.

This time I picked a vanilla cornet pie, a caramel cornet pie, a raspberry matcha cornet pie and a tomato arugula ciabatta.

The cornet pies are crisp outside and packed with soft cream inside. The vanilla is sweet and mellow, something anyone would like.

The caramel adds extra sweetness and would go really well with coffee. I tried the matcha as a sample, loved it, and ordered it.

My pick was the raspberry matcha cornet pie! My friend chose the vanilla cornet pie, and my little one chose the tomato arugula ciabatta. The ingredients worked well together, and the bread itself was chewy yet plain in a good way, so it vanished in no time. Of course... my kid... knows good food.

When I visited, Boulangerie Tan KINTEX was holding its 1st-anniversary events: salt bread 3+1, and a free bread bag with purchases of ₩30,000 or more. Great news for bread lovers. If you visit during the event period, I'd suggest making the most of it.

These days, saving one good bakery feels more satisfying than hunting down cafés on purpose.
