Gopchang restaurant worth a return visit in Incheon: Yeonsu Gopchang
In short
Yeonsu Gopchang Yeonsu Main Branch is a gopchang (grilled beef intestine) and makchang (grilled beef abomasum) restaurant on Saemmal-ro 21beon-gil in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, a 10-minute walk from Exit 1 of Yeonsu Station. Coming back years after the place was called Miro Gopchang, we ordered the Yeonsu Assorted Set (39,900 won), which brought salt-grilled makchang, seasoned gopchang, an extra-large gopchang hot pot and fried rice, plus free sundae (Korean blood sausage) and liver. Yeonsu Gopchang tasted just as good on the second visit as it did the first.

Where is Yeonsu Gopchang, and how far is it from Yeonsu Station?
Yeonsu Gopchang is a gopchang restaurant on the 1st floor of 13-5 Saemmal-ro 21beon-gil, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, about a 10-minute walk from Exit 1 of Yeonsu Station. It's open daily from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM, last order at midnight, and closed on the fifth Sunday of each month.

I've brought you a review of Yeonsu Gopchang, a gopchang spot I visited before and really loved. I first went when it was still Miro Gopchang, and it randomly popped into my head, so I went back after all this time.

Since relocating, the place has gotten bigger and the interior looks a lot cleaner. I went in the early evening and people were already drinking soju — you know that means it's a real hidden gem, haha.

What comes in the 39,900 won Yeonsu Assorted Set?
Yeonsu Gopchang's set menu lineup is really good, so I recommend going with one of the sets. I ordered the Yeonsu Assorted Set (₩39,900) again, the same one I loved last time. The price is affordable too, so it's great value.
The assorted set comes with salt-grilled makchang and seasoned gopchang, plus a gopchang hot pot in a stone bowl and fried rice to finish!

Monthly deep-clean Sunday and the self-serve corner
Yeonsu Gopchang does a deep clean every last Sunday of the month, so you can eat with peace of mind about hygiene, haha. They're also running a Naver review event right now, so join in and spin the memory prize wheel — first prize is apparently ₩200,000, whoa.
There's a self-serve corner on one side of the restaurant. You can grab an apron there too.
From small plates to various sauces to side dishes, you can take more of whatever you're missing from here.
I also spotted the fridge where the gopchang ages, haha.

There's a sign explaining how to eat it the best way, so it's worth reading and keeping in mind while you eat.

Side dishes, three sauces and chilled mukbap (acorn jelly soup)
After ordering, they set the table with side dishes — mukbap (acorn jelly soup), perilla leaves, banchan, and sauces all come out.

Three sauces came out: mayonnaise, the restaurant's special Seoul makjang, and roasted soybean powder.

This mukbap was so good, whoa. There was a ton of jelly in it too, haha. Cool and deep in flavor — kind of addictive.

Free sundae and liver with every order
One thing about Yeonsu Gopchang: when you order, sundae (Korean blood sausage) and liver come out for free!! Good to nibble on before the gopchang arrives, haha.

How did the salt-grilled makchang and seasoned gopchang taste?
The assorted gopchang I ordered arrived. There was a generous heap of chives on top of the salt makchang and seasoned gopchang.

I ate the salt makchang first. There's also crispy-outside-chewy-inside rice cake mixed in. All the fat had rendered off the makchang so it was super crispy and delicious, haha. It goes well dipped in the Seoul makjang sauce too.

After the salt makchang, I moved on to the seasoned gopchang. As the sign about eating it right suggested, I ate the gopchang, glass noodles, and vegetables all together at once!! The spice level was manageable even for someone who can't handle spicy food much. The seasoning was so good, haha.

How big is the earthenware-pot gopchang hot pot?
The gopchang hot pot included in the assorted set comes out too, and the portion was way bigger than I expected, whoa.

The hot pot was also packed full of gopchang, so this alone could knock out a bottle of soju, haha.
Dipping it in the soybean powder was surprisingly a nice touch too! The spicy flavor paired well with the nutty taste.

Finishing the meal with fried rice
After finishing all the gopchang, I ordered fried rice to wrap up the meal!! They pack up any leftover gopchang separately when you tell them, by the way.
The fried rice came out looking so nice, right? Haha. Kimchi, pickled radish, chives, seaweed, and even a fried egg on top! You stir-fry the rice yourself right there.

It's even better if you tear up some perilla leaves and mix them in while frying. The fried rice at the end was seriously delicious. Still a great spot even on a second visit — if you're looking for good food in Yeonsu-dong, give Yeonsu Gopchang a try!
