Gyeongju restaurant with green grape ade and pork cutlet: Midam

While traveling around Gyeongju, I visited Midam Kitchen, a hanok-style restaurant with really nice vibes. It had been a while since I had such good pasta and cutlet — the staff were friendly too, and it's great for families to enjoy together, so I recommend it~ Here's my review of Midam Kitchen, a great date spot in Gyeongju! ^^

Where is Midam Kitchen, and what about parking and the takeout discount?

Midam Kitchen is located at 33 Cheomseong-ro 49beon-gil, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongbuk — close enough to walk from a guesthouse in Hwangnidang-gil. It was easy to find with a map.

You can make a reservation in advance through Naver, and takeout is also available, so if your accommodation is nearby, why not get the 10% takeout discount? For parking, the nearby public parking lot seems like the way to go.

Midam Kitchen's hours and hanok interior

Midam Kitchen's hours are 10:30am to 9:00pm, closed every Wednesday.

This Hwangnidang-gil restaurant in Gyeongju has a clean hanok feel right from the entrance. Once inside, the modern interior made for a great date atmosphere.

There's also a private space toward the back and tables big enough for several people, so families were dining together as well.

How tablet ordering works at Midam Kitchen

I sat wherever I liked and ordered and paid through the tablet at the table. Midam Kitchen mainly serves Western dishes, and you can order by looking at the photos.

First, the dish I was most curious about — pork loin cutlet. They make it fresh from domestic pork loin, so it's a must-order, right?

There were also various pastas and pizzas to order. Takeout is available too, so if you're coming with kids, it might be nice to enjoy it comfortably back at your accommodation.

There were plenty of drink options too~ I figured a refreshing ade would go well with pasta, so I ordered one, and for the pasta I picked the slightly spicy beef brisket oil pasta.

Wow~ that pork loin cutlet was seriously generous~ It came out together with the pasta and green grape ade~ They also brought small plates, so we could sit back comfortably and eat.

Looks great and looks like a lot of food, right? The pasta was exactly to my taste too — a successful Gyeongju date restaurant~

Pork loin cutlet at Midam Kitchen

The generous pork loin cutlet is apparently all handmade in-house. The outside was crispy fried while the loin inside was tender — it was actually delicious even without dipping it in sauce at first~

It paired great with the pickled radish and jalapeños served alongside~ The portion was big enough to make for a filling meal, so I'd recommend it!

It also went well with the mild sauce~ The seasoning wasn't too strong, which I actually liked.

Eating it together with rice and salad made it even more satisfying — I'd recommend the pork loin cutlet at this Hwangnidang-gil restaurant in Gyeongju too~

Beef brisket oil pasta at Midam Kitchen

Honestly I wasn't expecting much from the pasta, but the look of it was exactly my style~ One bite in, it was spicy with a hint of garlic aroma that went really well with the oil sauce.

On top of that, the beef flavor of the brisket added even more richness that I could enjoy fully in the mouth.

It paired great with the green grape ade too~ Refreshing yet sweet, a drink anyone would like.

The pasta was satisfying too~! After a great pasta meal at Midam Kitchen, a Gyeongju date spot, I could go explore Hwangnidang-gil feeling nice and full~

If you book through Naver in advance, you get a house salad coupon, so it's worth reserving ahead. If you're looking for a relaxed date spot in Hwangnidang-gil, Gyeongju, I recommend Midam Kitchen~ ^^
