Korean BBQ couple set for two 33,000 won in Gaegeum, Busan: Mijin

Grilled meat is always delicious, but there's something extra fun about cooking it yourself, isn't there? With prices so high these days, I love finding good value BBQ spots — and this one at Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom had great meat quality too. Here's my review 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️

Where is Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom? Hours and parking

Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom is 433m from Exit 4 of Gaegeum Station. It's open daily from 16:00 to 24:00, and you can park behind the building, past the storefront!!

The tables and atmosphere were set up for comfortable grilling, the space was in great condition, and with tables that can be pushed together, it seemed perfect for a group dinner too — this is Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom 😳

The 500g first-order minimum and the 3,000-won side dish fee

At this Gaegeum favorite, you need to order at least 500g of meat per table for your first order ✔️ Spicy pork skin, spicy chicken collar, and pork ribs can each be ordered starting at 200g ✔️ *A flat 3,000 won side dish fee applies per table.

What's on the menu at Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom

What caught my eye first were the set menus — the domestic pork set, the specialty cuts set, the beef set, the pork assortment set, the couple set (2 people), and the family set (4 people). Beyond that there was Iberico pork collar, fresh pork belly, pork skirt steak, pork outer skirt, fresh pork intestine, pork jowl, chewy cuts, thin-sliced pork belly, pork ribs, and honeycomb tripe. On the meal/side menu there was doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), chadol doenjang jjigae, pork kimchi jjigae, spicy ramyeon, spicy chewy noodles, cold noodles (plain or spicy), aged kimchi fried rice, spam lunchbox, steamed egg, Mijin grilled sausage (1 piece), and steamed rice — such a wide variety!

At the self-serve bar you can grab any sauces, lettuce, garlic, chili peppers, pickled onions, radish pickles, and white kimchi you need.

They bring everything you need to start, so if it's not enough, just ask for a refill. I was starving to death.......

The couple set for two, 33,000 won: what you actually get

I ordered the couple set for two. Fresh pork belly (300g) + Iberico pork collar (200g) + spicy chewy noodles + 1 sausage, all for 33,000 won. !!!!!! The combo is seriously insane — perfect for two friends or a couple 😳

They put the pork belly and Iberico pork collar on the grill together and cook them until golden brown 🤤 As the pork belly sizzled away, that savory pork aroma rose up and made me so hungry!

You can see the nice thickness of the cuts — enough to really feel the texture of the meat. Doesn't it just look so good?!!

Look at that visual ㅜㅜ Isn't this the textbook definition of crispy outside, juicy inside...🤤

Grilled kimchi, scallion salad and pickled radish wraps

Eating it fresh off the grill while still warm — how good is that?! Pairing it with grilled kimchi and scallion salad is the best!! Even piled on radish pickle, the crunch of the pickle plus the meat's texture is top-tier.

This combination cuts the richness and really wakes up your appetite. Even just dipping it in plain salt is delicious 🤤 The meat looks amazing, doesn't it? I want to eat it again already,,,

Bibim jjolmyeon (spicy chewy noodles)

The sweet and tangy spicy chewy noodles had that pure chewiness in every strand! The sauce was seriously delicious and paired really well with the meat too — right when the meat started feeling a bit rich, this dish pulled my appetite right back up. ?!!!!

Is the Mijin Chuksan couple set worth it?

This visit to Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom, a Gaegeum favorite in Busan, let me really enjoy the flavor of meat grilled to a perfect golden brown 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 Eating the meat as it cooked appetizingly on the grill, along with all the various sides, made the whole meal feel even richer!!!! Especially since you can eat your fill of good-value meat, this is a Gaegeum, Busan spot I know I'll be craving again. Highly, highly recommend it aaaa.
