Busanjin pork belly BBQ: Friday night 500g of three cuts at Mijin
In short
Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom is a fresh pork belly BBQ restaurant on Baekyang-daero in Busanjin, Busan. On a Friday past 8pm the order was a 500g mix — 200g fresh pork belly, 200g kkodeulsal (chewy jowl-side cut) and 100g moseori (edge cut) — with doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), mul-naengmyeon (cold noodles) and a Spam lunchbox, and each cut had its own clear texture while every side pulled its weight. For meat done right with no gimmicks, Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom is the answer.

Does meat really need a fancy explanation?
These days plenty of BBQ places pile on extra toppings and they're still delicious, but I wanted the real thing — basic pork belly, no tricks added. So I headed to Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom, a Sinjurye local favorite!

Where is Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom, and what are its hours?
Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom is on the 1st floor of 317 Baekyang-daero, Busanjin-gu, open daily from 16:00 to 24:00. This place genuinely does great meat.

How ordering works: 500g minimum, cuts you can mix
At Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom the first order of meat starts at 500g, but you can mix cuts, so we split it up into a little of everything we wanted. Here's our pick:
- Fresh pork belly 200g
- Kkodeulsal (chewy skirt meat) 200g
- Moseori (edge cut) 100g
- Doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) + rice
- Mul-naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles)
- Spam lunchbox
Total success!!

Self-serve banchan bar and the 3,000 won table charge
If you run low on basic side dishes, you just grab more from the self-serve bar, which was really convenient. The table charge isn't per person — it's ₩3,000 per table. No stress there... delicious and great value.

Is there a wait at 8pm on a Friday?
We wrapped up a Friday and headed to Mijin for dinner. Worried about a wait if we came right after work during peak dinner hour, we arrived just past 8pm — and it was already packed with customers..!!

Fresh pork belly 200g, kkodeulsal 200g and moseori 100g all came out on one plate!
Fresh pork belly, 200g at 4,900 won per 100g
We started, of course, with the 200g fresh pork belly — the foundation of any BBQ restaurant, and something you can never skip. The moment it hits the grill and starts turning golden, that savory smell rises up properly. And that first bite — the juiciness hits immediately.

The basic version already tastes this good, so imagine dipping it lightly in salt or wrapping it with myeongi namul (wild garlic leaves)... Crispy outside, juicy and moist inside, with a great ratio of lean meat to fat that gets more savory the more you chew.

This good and only ₩4,900 per 100g in this era of rising prices — not even five thousand won,,,,,, There's always a reason a place stays this busy.

Kkodeulsal 200g vs moseori 100g: how the textures compare
The kkodeulsal 200g at Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom lives up to its name from the first bite — the texture stands out. The first bite is chewy and springy, and as you keep chewing, savory juices pop in your mouth with a bouncier texture than pork belly, making it really fun to chew.
I want more already,,,,,, dipped lightly in salt, this kkodeulsal keeps pulling your chopsticks back.
The photo on the left is the moseori cut! What even is moseori? What does it taste like? I ordered it out of curiosity, and I would have really regretted skipping it. Chewy yet savory, with a deep flavor that builds the more you chew — an attractive cut that sits between pork belly and kkodeulsal in both texture and taste. I was glad we mixed and matched several cuts to experience this.
Sides: doenjang jjigae, mul-naengmyeon and a Spam lunchbox
We always order stew, rice, and naengmyeon whenever we go to a BBQ place — we really are a big-eater couple... Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom, this Sinjurye local favorite, nails these side dishes too — the doenjang jjigae was great, but the mul-naengmyeon was genuinely amazing.

The savory yet spicy broth cuts right through the greasiness of the meat, so scooping up a big spoonful of rice with the doenjang jjigae broth — in that moment, you have absolutely nothing to envy,,,

One spicy-savory spoonful of doenjang jjigae, then back to another piece of fatty meat. When a BBQ restaurant's doenjang jjigae is good, the whole meal's satisfaction shoots up — and here it's not just the meat that's great, the stew is great too. And the mul-naengmyeon is great as well. The collaboration of hot, spicy stew and cold, clean broth noodles. Slurp up the bouncy noodles, then grab another fatty piece of meat. Isn't this basically the true Korean dinner?
A spoonful of broth, a bite of rice, another piece of meat — before we knew it, a whole bowl of rice had vanished.
With a bit of meat left over and a bit of doenjang jjigae left over,,,,, we added the Spam lunchbox that had been catching my eye while ordering. Salty pan-fried Spam, a fried egg, stir-fried kimchi, anchovies, and gim (seaweed) flakes,,,,,,!!!! A combination that cannot fail. My partner got praised for choosing the Spam lunchbox over plain rice for round two.

Why this Jurye BBQ spot wins by sticking to the basics
Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom isn't flashy or overdressed — it has the most instinctive kind of happiness you feel when you properly grill meat you love. Juicy fresh pork belly, chewy-textured kkodeulsal, and moseori with its addictive bite — each cut had a clear identity, and the doenjang jjigae, mul-naengmyeon, and Spam lunchbox were all great without exception.
Nothing felt thrown together — everything was good, making this a genuinely satisfying BBQ meal after a long while!! The conclusion is simple: the meat here is insanely good. It sticks to the basics, and that's exactly why it's even better.
If you're looking for a Sinjurye local favorite, thinking of a hearty Jurye-area BBQ restaurant, or searching for a Gaegeum samgyeopsal spot, definitely enjoy a full spread at Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom, from fresh pork belly to all the sides!! Warning: eating this well still won't cost much, so don't be shocked at how cheap it is,,,, This was a visit to Mijin Chuksan Sinjurye-jeom, a BBQ restaurant we truly lost ourselves in and enjoyed after a long time.
