Starfield Suwon restaurant: perilla oil beef tartare pasta, Dalmatian
In short
Dalmatian Starfield Suwon is a dog-friendly Western restaurant at Unit 1250 on the 1st floor of Starfield Suwon in Suwon, Gyeonggi. Two people shared a 200g flat iron steak (₩33,900), perilla oil beef tartare pasta (₩22,000) and a small house salad (₩14,000) with drinks, and left well fed. Dalmatian drew them in for its dog-friendly policy, but the food is what made it memorable.

I didn't even know Starfield Suwon had a restaurant like this. I figured it was just a nice brunch place, but once inside I was quite impressed that it's a space where you can have a proper meal with your dog.
It isn't only about dogs, either. With steak and even beef tartare pasta, the menu is fairly serious, which made me more curious about the food.
To give away the ending: I went in for the atmosphere and came out quite satisfied with the food too.
Where is Dalmatian Starfield Suwon, and where to park?
Dalmatian Starfield Suwon (달마시안 스타필드 수원점) is at Unit 1250 on the 1st floor of Starfield Suwon. Come in through Gate 3 and it's immediately on your left, so there's no wandering around looking for it.

Starfield is so huge that looking for one shop can turn into an accidental 10,000-step walk 🤭 but this one is relatively easy to find. It's also only about 255m from Hwaseo Station Exit 1, so it works well by public transport too.

A Dalmatian theme right from the entrance
A big DALMATIAN sign stands out at the entrance. But something else caught my eye first.

The PET FRIENDLY ZONE sign. It's not just that dogs are allowed: the restaurant has dog-only tables and a pet menu inside. The Dalmatian vibe is obvious from the door. It felt less like dogs being merely 'allowed' and more like a space made for eating together with your dog.

As you'd expect from a pet-friendly place, the usage guidelines are detailed. It's worth checking the vaccination requirements and house rules before you visit.
※ Rabies vaccination must be confirmed when bringing a dog, and entry may be refused without it. Dogs must be carried inside the restaurant, and owners of dogs 15kg or heavier need to ask in advance.

Inside Dalmatian: nicer than expected
Inside, the space was much tidier than I'd expected.

With wood-tone tables, high ceilings and big picture windows, it hardly feels stuffy at all.

The window side especially gets lovely natural light, which made for a great mood.

Even without a dog, if you're looking for a date or a meal at Starfield Suwon, it's a perfectly good candidate.
Spotting the hidden Dalmatians around the restaurant
There's a quiet fun in looking around here. Dogs on the walls, dogs on the windows, dogs around the open kitchen 🐾 You hardly need to explain why the place is called Dalmatian.
Rather than feeling like an over-cute dog café, it keeps a restaurant mood and just adds accents, which I personally liked more.
Water, pickles and jalapeños are self-serve. It was kept nice and clean.
Oh, and the 6 hours of free parking at the Starfield Suwon car park is so good 👍
How to order: tablets at every table
You order on the tablet at each seat. If you're bringing a dog, the vaccination confirmation notice appears first,

and since you can see menu photos and prices together, ordering was easy.

What we ordered at Dalmatian
Here's what we ordered that day.

- ✔ Flat iron steak (부채살 스테이크) 200g · ₩33,900
- ✔ Perilla oil beef tartare pasta (들기름 육회 파스타) · ₩22,000
- ✔ House salad (S) · ₩14,000
- ✔ Strawberry latte (iced) · ₩7,000
- ✔ Americano · ₩4,500
One steak plus pasta and a salad made for a pretty generous spread, even for two.
Complimentary bread and the self-serve bar
The bread came out first.

Big pieces of bread come with butter, and served warm it was so good 🥹 A great thing to nibble while waiting for the mains. Paired with coffee, I kept reaching for it from the start. Extra bread is ₩1,000.

Pickles and jalapeños are at the self-serve bar! They were nice to have between bites of steak or pasta.

Drinks: Americano and iced strawberry latte
The iced Americano was nutty and clean, easy to drink before or after a meal.

The strawberry latte had the smoothness of milk with sweet-tart strawberry, and it worked better than expected as a dessert.

House salad: as colorful as it is fresh
The house salad costs ₩14,000 and was surprisingly generous. It's not just a pile of greens: oranges, green grapes, cherry tomatoes and more go in, so it looks fresh and colorful.
Ordering it together with the steak was especially good. Eating a bite of fresh vegetables and juicy fruit between pieces of meat felt like resetting my mouth.
The main: 200g flat iron steak
And then the steak I'd been waiting for. At 200g I assumed it wouldn't be huge, but it came thickly cut and had real presence.
The cross-section kept a nice reddish tinge and the outside was golden-seared. Best of all, it wasn't too tough.

The beef has good flavor on its own, and adding a little salt, whole-grain mustard or sauce changes the taste as you go.

With grilled king oyster mushrooms, tomatoes and peas alongside, the plating was pretty full too.
How is the perilla oil beef tartare pasta?
This was the dish I was personally most curious about that day. Perilla oil + beef tartare + pasta? Personally, a dish like this stays in my memory longer than the usual tomato or cream pasta.

Each ingredient is familiar on its own, but put on one plate, the taste is hard to imagine. Yet the combination turned out surprisingly natural.

Fresh beef tartare and an egg yolk go on top, and if you pop the yolk and mix everything together, it gets much smoother and nuttier. Eating the tartare alone feels different from eating it with the noodles, so I kept going back for more.
It's a cold pasta, so it isn't heavy, and the noodles give off perilla oil's distinctive nutty aroma.
Is Dalmatian Starfield Suwon worth it?
At first, what stood out most was that it's a restaurant where dogs are welcome, but after the meal the food was what I remembered more. The place is spacious too, and sunlight pours in through the big windows so it never feels stuffy.

It would be perfectly comfortable with a dog, but I think it's also a good choice for anyone without one who wants a date or a nice meal at Starfield Suwon.
