In short
Gang's Duck (갱스덕) is a Peking duck restaurant in Ingye-dong, Suwon, behind Homeplus and about 5 minutes from City Hall Station. Trying Peking duck for the first time, the writer booked through Naver and ordered a half Peking duck, Hong Kong-style egg noodles and shrimp fried rice. Where is Gang's Duck in Ingye-dong, and what's the atmosphere like?
Gang's Duck is behind Homeplus in Suwon. It's also 5 minutes from City Hall Station. Parking is hard in Ingye-dong, so I recommend using a nearby public car park.

Inside, the softly glowing red neon lights lift the mood even more.

It's spacious and pleasant, and there are private rooms too, so it works for groups and full-venue rental!

There are also separate men's and women's restrooms inside, and they're clean and nice to use.
Ordering and booking tips for Gang's Duck

Every table has a tablet, which makes ordering easy.

I booked through Naver before going. Seeing the peanuts and small plates neatly set out raised my trust a lot! Peking duck and dongpo-yuk (braised pork belly) take about 20 minutes after ordering, so if you reserve before visiting you can eat faster!

How to eat Peking duck for first-timers
- Spread out the thin pancake.
- Add well-cooked duck together with the skin.
- Top with scallion and cucumber.
- Roll it up and dip it in the sauce.
- Enjoy!
You don't even need an explanation, because there's a detailed instruction card you can read while you wait. Of course, the staff explained it once more when the food came out.

You can also watch a staff member at the counter carving the Peking duck by hand. I kept staring, wondering "is that my duck?" haha
How does the half Peking duck at Gang's Duck taste?

The star of Gang's Duck, the Peking duck, has arrived! It's a golden, glistening, nicely roasted beauty >__<

The skin and meat come in a good proportion. You can order Peking duck as a half, so it's great for small groups or for pairing with other dishes.

With the Peking duck you get thin pancakes, cucumber, scallion, sugar and sweet bean sauce. These can all be refilled.

Juicy meat wrapped with the thin pancake, shredded scallion and cucumber, then dipped in the sauce, tastes clean and has no gamey smell at all, so anyone can enjoy it without hesitation!

There's no gamey or duck-specific funky smell, so even people who are picky about duck dishes can enjoy it cleanly, with no love-it-or-hate-it divide!

Dipping Peking duck skin in sugar
The skin of Gang's Duck's Peking duck is crispy and nutty. Dab it in a little sugar and the mix of rich fat and sweet sugar is soooo good..

Complimentary fried duck
This came out partway through the meal as a free extra. They fry the leftover duck parts and sprinkle them with a ziran (cumin-style spice, I think?) seasoning, and it was a real treat. I bet it would go great with beer haha
What are the Hong Kong-style egg noodles like?

Gang's Duck's Hong Kong-style egg noodles are made with egg in the dough, giving a thin, springy texture that snaps apart, which I found very appealing.

They're stir-fried quickly over high heat, so the crunchy vegetables and overall savoriness are the best~! It tastes clean and light, not oily or heavy, and goes well alongside the Peking duck!
Is the shrimp fried rice too salty?

The shrimp fried rice at Gang's Duck isn't too salty or harsh, with a faint wok aroma, and the nuttiness of the egg goes well with the scallion.

The plump shrimp pop and bounce with every bite, the best!
