Seongsu pizza date: White Hawaiian with pepper at Pizza Slice Seoul

My boyfriend and I were on a date in Seongsu and suddenly really wanted pizza, so we stopped by here 。◕‿◕ 。

Where can you pick pizza by the slice in Seongsu?

Pizza Slice Seoul is a pizzeria near Seongsu Station that sells pizza by the slice instead of by the whole pie. That day, instead of committing to a heavy whole pizza, we were looking for a place where we could pick whatever slices we wanted, and that's how we ended up here. Ordering a whole pizza usually means picking just one flavor for everyone, but since Pizza Slice Seoul sells by the slice, it's great for groups who each want a different flavor, and it's not a big deal to come alone for just one slice either.

Location and vibe of Pizza Slice Seoul's Seongsu branch

The Seongsu branch of Pizza Slice Seoul is on the basement level of the same building as This Is Never That and Khakis, so it seemed like a nice spot to browse clothes and then grab pizza afterward :)

The shop is underground, but the inside is quite a bit bigger than I expected! There are big tables so groups shouldn't have any trouble, and it also seems perfect for eating alone — solo pizza and beer? 🙌

Pizza Slice Seoul menu and slice prices

Pizza Slice Seoul's slices vary a bit by type, but most run from ₩6,000 to ₩7,000 per slice. The biggest draw is definitely being able to pick different kinds of pizza one slice at a time! Besides pizza, they also have sides like garlic knots, fries, and buffalo wings, along with drinks, beer, and cocktails. Prices aren't too steep, so it was easy to pick and try several kinds.

Looking at the showcase, there were plenty of options ready — cheese, pepperoni, mushroom, jalapeño & cream cheese, white Hawaiian, homemade meatball, today's pizza, and more.

There were so many tempting options, but we ended up ordering three slices — Today's Slice pizza, White Hawaiian slice pizza, and Homemade Meatball slice pizza — plus two Zero Colas ☺️

Our order arrived 🍕 You can feel the crunch of the dough just from the photo. Looking at this picture is making me want it again..? (the pizza temptation)

What does the Today's Slice pizza taste like?

Pizza Slice Seoul's Today's Slice pizza is topped with mushroom, pepperoni, olives, and other toppings, haha

On the table they'd also set out ketchup, Tabasco hot sauce, pepper, and herbs :)

True to its name as today's pizza, it was really delicious. First off, I loved how crispy the dough was — my one small regret is that I only remembered the garlic dipping sauce option partway through eating, so I never actually got to dip it in ;)

White Hawaiian slice — I recommend sprinkling on pepper

Pizza Slice Seoul's White Hawaiian slice is a pineapple pizza that uses white sauce instead of tomato sauce, and personally, I recommend sprinkling pepper on it. This second pizza, the White Hawaiian, was the one I picked, haha. Everyone's divided on pineapple pizza, right — love it or hate it. I personally love it, so I gave it a try 🤣

Also, the music playing at the Seongsu branch of Pizza Slice Seoul was really good. Totally the kind of playlist you'd expect from a hot spot restaurant in Seongsu-dong. 🎧

And here's another combination I'd personally recommend: sprinkling pepper on your pizza!!

Unlike a typical tomato-sauce-based pizza, you first taste the savory richness of the white sauce and cheese, and then the pineapple pieces come through sweetly in between bites — the combination was better than I expected. I already tend to like pineapple pizza, so I really enjoyed this one, haha

Homemade Meatball slice — the most filling of the three

Pizza Slice Seoul's Homemade Meatball slice was the most filling pizza out of the three. The last one we tried, the Homemade Meatball slice, lived up to its name with big chunks of meatball piled on top of the pizza, and it had a totally different charm from a typical pepperoni pizza!!

Where the cheese was melted, it was savory and salty, and combined with the clean, rich flavor of the meatball, it felt like the most filling of the three pizzas to me, haha :)

Small touches: knife, self bus station, and sink

Since Pizza Slice Seoul's slices are on the bigger side, they come with a knife, plus there's a self-service bus station and a separate sink for washing your hands. The slices are quite large, so a knife was provided to cut them in half. Thanks to that, we could cut it up neatly and eat comfortably :)

Once we finished eating, there was a separate return station where you could bus your own dishes, and right next to it was a spot to wash your hands, which was convenient, haha. The hand wash by the sink smelled especially nice! While washing my hands after the pizza, the scent was so good I ended up smelling it again lol. It felt like they'd thought through even these little details, which I really liked :)

Is Pizza Slice Seoul good for a Seongsu date or eating solo?

Pizza Slice Seoul was the place I found while wondering what to eat with my boyfriend for a light snack or a stand-in meal, and honestly I came away really satisfied :) A lot of people also shop or do café tours alone in Seongsu, and since you don't have to order a whole pizza and can just get slices, it seems like a great match for anyone looking for a solo pizza place in Seongsu. It's also available for takeout, so grabbing a slice while wandering around Seongsu sounds like a good idea too. ☺️♥️
