A Guui-dong Korean BBQ restaurant with unlimited wrap greens

I was craving pork belly after a long while! And especially when I eat meat, I love those side dishes grilled alongside it on the pan — wrap greens, mushrooms, bracken, bean sprouts, kimchi, all of it. So I went to Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal, a Korean BBQ restaurant near Guui Station where wrap greens and side dishes are unlimited. I got to eat juicy meat grilled in an iron lid together with fresh wrap greens and all kinds of side dishes — let me share how the meal went, it was hearty and filling!
⏰ Open daily 12:00–24:00 / group bookings and reservations available
📍 It's a 10-minute walk from Guui Station Exit 4. Past Hyemin Hospital, it's on the 1st floor of the commercial arcade in Jayang Hanulchae Verre Apartment Building 102. 🅿️ There's no dedicated parking space, so I'd recommend using a nearby paid or public lot.
Inside Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal: the room and seating

The inside of Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal was clean and comfortable. There's more space further in, so it's actually quite spacious. Tables range from 4-seaters to 8-seaters, so it's great for group get-togethers or family dinners too! We went on a Sunday evening and the place was packed with people eating out. By the time we finished and were leaving, the tables had cleared out, so I got to snap some photos of the interior.

Whatever anyone says, pork belly tastes best grilled on that iron lid, right~ Every table has its own iron lid, so you get to enjoy the meat even more.
Menu and prices: one portion each of three pork cuts

Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal is a place where you can enjoy premium-grade pork and beef at reasonable prices. The menu has everything from pork belly to pork ribs, and depending on the cut you choose, you can pick either the iron lid or the charcoal brazier! There's a wide variety of cuts and side dishes too, so I spent a good while agonizing over what to order~ The set menu options are varied and reasonably priced as well.

Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal is run by a meat specialty company located on Umineo-gil 6, and they say they provide carefully selected, high-quality, even more delicious meat.

Domestic pork belly and pork neck, plus a real variety of other cuts — galmaegisal (skirt meat), pork ribs, beef short rib meat, and more — so many that it'd be great to order a few different cuts and share them around the table. We wanted to try a variety too, so we ordered pork belly, pork neck, and kkodeulsal, one serving of each~ Pork belly and pork neck were ₩17,000 each for 200g, and kkodeulsal was ₩19,000 for 150g. My partner loves kkodeulsal so it was on the menu — good good!

And on top of that, I was struck again looking at the drink prices?!? The soju and draft beer prices are the best👍 Plus, corkage is free~ ✔️ Except for alcohol sold in the restaurant, which is excluded from corkage.

The basic side dishes and the salt-and-curry-powder dip
Another thing that won me over here was — ✨ the seasonal wrap greens and variety of side dishes are unlimited refill, no less!!

The basic side dishes were really varied too! Pickled vegetables, kimchi, myeongi namul (mountain garlic leaves), pickled onions, and more — side dishes that go perfectly with the meat~

And they give you salt and curry powder separately, and dipping the meat in those is such a hit!
What's in the unlimited wrap greens and side dish self-serve zone

The self-serve zone at Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal is loaded with fresh, well-kept wrap greens plus mushrooms, onions, sweet pumpkin, garlic, chili peppers, and more~ If you're someone who absolutely needs vegetables alongside your meat, this self-serve corner is heaven — I certainly felt that way!

And you can't leave out bean sprouts, kimchi, and bracken grilled together in the pork belly fat on the iron lid — that trio is always a delicious move~ When you first order your meat, they set the classic trio of side dishes on the iron lid for you, and if you want more, you can just grab them freely from the self-serve corner~!

I fell for the self-serve corner with its freshly kept wrap greens all over again at Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal. I loaded up a plate with as much mushroom, sweet pumpkin, and wrap greens as I wanted!
Iron-lid grilling done at the table by the staff

The meat arrives looking high-quality just from the look of it! Pork belly, pork neck, and kkodeulsal, one serving of each. And they set kimchi, bean sprouts, and bracken on the iron lid together with it too :)
Now, here's another thing that won me over!! The staff grill the meat for you directly! They brushed the iron lid generously with oil, then placed the meat on the heated pan.

They really grilled the meat to perfect golden-brown doneness, so deliciously!

They flipped it evenly front and back so it wouldn't burn, grilling it to a nice golden brown all over. Meat really does taste best grilled on an iron lid!!

The meat had just the right amount of fat with a glossy shine, cut into perfectly bite-sized pieces, and with all the side dishes, mushrooms, and sweet pumpkin piled on top, it looked appetizing just from the colors alone!

How it tasted: curry powder, sweet pumpkin and a full wrap
Grilling all these side dishes along with mushrooms and sweet pumpkin in that savory meat fat is just delicious in its own way! I especially love grilling these side dishes, so I grabbed more from the self-serve corner to grill up~
They grilled it to exactly the right golden-brown — crispy and golden on the outside, while the moist inside was packed with juices and full of savory flavor!! I tried dipping it in the curry powder, and the curry aroma paired really well with the savory meat juices!?

Even the pork neck was moist and tender~!
And then the kkodeulsal, with its charmingly chewy texture! Eating all three types together meant I never got tired of it and got to enjoy a variety of flavors~ As a wrap-greens lover, nothing beats piling meat and all kinds of side dishes onto a wrap leaf and taking a big, generous bite 👍 With the vegetables so fresh, you end up wrapping and eating endlessly.
Having the staff grill everything for us from start to the very last piece made the whole meal more comfortable and even more delicious. Above all, the high-quality meat and the generously provided fresh wrap greens and side dishes make this a place it's impossible not to fall for 💛 If you're looking for a great pork belly restaurant near Jayang-dong, I'd definitely recommend Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal 😀
