I heard it was a Jeju pork specialty spot and got curious, so I went to check it out — and honestly this place was the real deal, so let me break it all down today haha.

Pork belly and pork neck aging in the entrance showcase
Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi, known as a must-visit BBQ spot near Wanjeong Station, had a serious presence from the sign onward haha. Right as you walk in, there's a big refrigerated showcase with the meat neatly lined up, and seeing the aging cuts laid out like that instantly built trust in the freshness! There was also plenty of parking, so it was an easy visit even if you're driving.

Right at the entrance, there's this aging fridge with just two cuts — pork belly and pork neck — and it's hard to capture in photos, but it looked totally gorgeous... genuinely gorgeous, thick cuts and beautiful color.

Menu and prices: Jeju pork ribs 180g and special-cut pork neck 160g, 16,000 won each
The menu was simple — Jeju pork ribs 180g and Jeju special cut pork 160g, each ₩16,000 — and you could also order sides like water naengmyeon, bibim naengmyeon, and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew)! The menu board says they use premium Jeju Montrak meat, and after eating it, it was so good I looked up Jeju Montrak afterward. Turns out it's a company that sells antibiotic-free pork.

Oil-drum tables and no wait after 9pm
Once inside, the tables and chairs made from repurposed drum cans really stood out haha. The copper pipe ventilation hanging from the ceiling was impressive too! We visited at night so there was no wait for us, but I was shocked to see the waitlist already had over 20 teams written down. I guess a wait really is standard practice at this Wanjeong Station favorite... We went a bit after 9pm and there were plenty of open seats.

What's on the self-serve side bar: myeongi (pickled wild garlic leaves), gondre greens, seasoned bean sprouts
The self-serve bar had plenty of banchan (side dishes) like myeongi namul (pickled mountain garlic leaves) and gondre-mu muchim (aster radish salad), along with perilla leaves and bean sprout muchim. That brownish seasoned vegetable in particular had a salty-sweet flavor that kept me reaching for more haha. With the standard scallion salad, myeongi namul, wasabi, and ssamjang all included, the spread felt really substantial.

Do the staff grill for you? Yes, piece by piece
The second the meat hit the grill, that sizzling sound alone was a work of art haha. The cuts were thick, so biting in gave a burst of juices! No gamey smell at all, just a clean flavor that really let the chewiness of Jeju black pork shine. Wrapping a piece in salted cabbage with a dab of ssamjang was such a perfect combo, I couldn't get enough.
Plus, having the staff grill it for us made it so easy to eat. They flipped it back and forth carefully, cooking every piece evenly, one by one. Thank you so much!!!

Finishing with doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew)
After finishing the meat, we ordered doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) to wrap up, and the bubbling stone pot alone got the saliva going haha. It was placed right on the grill so it stayed warm the whole time, and the spicy-savory broth cut through all the richness perfectly! I wanted to try the naengmyeon too but was way too full. There was also pork skin on the menu, and it was so good I just kept eating without taking a single photo... but man, that pork skin was delicious.
