Paju Geumchon pork bone stew lunch for two: Cheongnyeon Gamjatang
In short
Cheongnyeon Gamjatang Sundaeguk Paju Geumchon-jeom is a gamjatang (pork bone stew) and sundaeguk (blood sausage soup) restaurant on Soejaegaeul-gil in Paju, Gyeonggi. On a weekday lunch two people ordered the small Cheongnyeon Gamjatang for 32,000 won and it came with four big bones, so the owner set two aside on a separate plate, and the meal ended with cheese fried rice for 5,000 won. One small pot at Cheongnyeon Gamjatang Sundaeguk is more than enough to fill two people.

Craving something hot and hearty for lunch in Paju Geumchon, my husband and I headed to Cheongnyeon Gamjatang Sundaeguk Paju Geumchon-jeom 😊

We went on a weekday lunch and ordered the small Cheongnyeon Gamjatang (pork bone stew), thinking small would be plenty for two — but when it arrived, the portion was seriously huge, true to a solid Paju Geumchon lunch spot haha.
To finish, we thoroughly polished off some cheese fried rice too 🧀
Where do you park at Cheongnyeon Gamjatang Sundaeguk in Paju Geumchon?

Cheongnyeon Gamjatang Sundaeguk Paju Geumchon-jeom 📍 62-13 Soejaegaeul-gil, 1F, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea ⏰ Daily 11:00–22:00 🚗 Free parking in front of the restaurant There's no separate large parking lot, but you can park right in front of the store.

Inside there were several tables, and we grabbed a seat and dove straight into the menu.
What we ordered: small Cheongnyeon Gamjatang for 32,000 won

We ordered the small Cheongnyeon Gamjatang for ₩32,000. The Naver menu listed it as ₩35,000, so I asked, and the owner confirmed ₩32,000 was correct. This is as of my visit in August 2026, so please treat the price as a reference :)

The basic side dishes were seasoned bean sprouts, kimchi, and diced radish kimchi (kkakdugi), and the kkakdugi especially suited my taste — I kept reaching for it the whole time we ate the stew 😋
The small pork bone stew arrives piled high
It looked hearty even in photos, but true to a proper Paju Geumchon lunch spot, the portion was massive 😂
On top there was a big heap of napa cabbage and enoki mushrooms, which the owner tidied up for easier eating. I love the cabbage so I ate most of it, and my husband loves the mushrooms so I let him have those — everyone handling what they like best haha 🤣
Once it started bubbling, the owner kept ladling broth over the meat and cabbage on top to simmer it a bit more 🔥
And inside there were four big bones total! Since it was too much to boil all at once, the owner set two aside in a separate bowl and let us start cooking with the other two.
How much meat is on the bones?
I pulled out one of the big bone chunks, and just the size of the meat is impressive 😆 There was so much meat attached, it was fully cooked and tender, had no gamey smell, and came off the bone easily, so it was easy to eat.
The dipping sauce leans sweet

The dipping sauce was a bit different from what I usually get at gamjatang places. It was a bit sweeter and richer in flavor, with a hint of mustard, which made it great for dipping the meat once you pulled it off the bone.

The broth wasn't a spicy style — it was rich and deep, and honestly it really suited my taste 😋

Potatoes are essential in gamjatang, right? The potatoes, soaked in broth and fluffy, were delicious too 🥔
We didn't stop after one chunk — we put the reserved bones back in and kept eating. With four big bones in there, it was a really satisfying meal for two.
Finishing with cheese fried rice for 5,000 won 🧀

After finishing the stew, we also ordered the ₩5,000 cheese fried rice. The owner scooped out the remaining broth and prepared the fried rice, and there was cheese piled generously on top~!!!

The rice was fried nice and moist, blending well with the cheese, and even though we were already full from the stew, we kept eating more haha.
My husband and I shared the small Cheongnyeon Gamjatang, and with four big bones, generous meat, and rich broth, it was a really satisfying meal. Finishing off with the cheese fried rice too made this Cheongnyeon Gamjatang Sundaeguk lunch in Paju Geumchon a truly filling end 😊
