In short

Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch is a pork cutlet restaurant in Geomdan, Incheon. We ate tenderloin cutlet, special premium loin cutlet, and review-event giant fried shrimp with our six-year-old and nine-month-old. Verdict: a comfortable pick for a family pork cutlet meal.

Every weekend, I always wonder what to eat, then end up choosing something my child likes. This weekend’s lunch was pork cutlets—something my child loves and adults can enjoy just as easily.

Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch, visited with the kids

This time, I went to Gyeomson Donkatsu, a place I had heard was good and had wanted to try. I visited with my six-year-old, nine-month-old baby, and husband, and it was a nice restaurant to visit with a baby in Geomdan, too.

I visited around 2 p.m. on a Saturday and was able to walk right in without waiting. The interior was more spacious than I expected, and there was plenty of space between tables, so it did not feel cramped eating with the kids.

Best of all, high chairs were available, so it was easy to sit down and eat with our nine-month-old baby.

Light tenderloin pork cutlet and rich premium loin

Our order is here~~ What I ordered was the tenderloin pork cutlet, ₩15,000.

It does not come as just a lonely pork cutlet—curry, doenjang-guk (fermented soybean paste soup), and salad are included too, making it a generous full spread! Plus, the basic side dishes, including rice, can be refilled, which was great for a hearty meal.

Gyeomson Donkatsu’s tenderloin pork cutlet has a soft texture. Tenderloin is a cut with almost no muscle, so it is said to have the tenderest texture of all pork cuts.

Soft tenderloin pork cutlet

And when I actually tried it, it was tender to chew with a light, clean flavor. The coating was crisp, while the meat inside was moist and tender, making it easy to eat. If you prefer pork cutlets that are mild rather than strongly seasoned, the tenderloin pork cutlet would probably suit you well.

Special premium loin pork cutlet menu item

The special premium loin pork cutlet arrived cut into thick pieces, and it looked very appetizing. Personally, I liked the special premium loin pork cutlet even more than the tenderloin.

Thick-cut special premium loin pork cutlet

Maybe because it is a loin cut that includes gabrisal (pork neck cheek), it had a richer nutty flavor than regular loin, and it was juicy when I chewed it. Even though it was thick, it was not dry at all, and the more I chewed, the more that rich flavor came through—it was totally my style 🩵 While the tenderloin had a soft, light charm, the special premium loin was deliciously rich and juicy. My six-year-old, Dami, ate both the tenderloin pork cutlet and the special premium loin pork cutlet really well.

Review-event giant fried shrimp

We also tried the giant fried shrimp we received through the review event. The batter was fried crisp, while the shrimp inside was bouncy, giving it a great texture. Since there was a whole shrimp inside, each bite also had the shrimp’s mild, nutty flavor. Having one alongside the pork cutlet made the meal feel satisfyingly substantial, like we had added another menu item.

We enjoyed it so much~~ If you are wondering what to order when dining out with kids, Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch could be worth a visit with a child who loves pork cutlets :) With high chairs and a spacious dining room, it was a comfortable place to eat with the kids.
