Beef intestine restaurant in Geomdan, Incheon: Hwang Gop feast

Hwang Gop Geomdan New Town Branch is at 1F, Unit 9, Commercial Building, 420 Ieum 1-ro, Geomdan-gu, Incheon. It is open from 3 p.m. to midnight, and until 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Takeout, delivery, and reservations are available, and there is parking too.

A beef intestine spot found in Geomdan New Town

Beef intestines are delicious whenever you have them 😊 I heard there was a great beef intestine spot in Geomdan New Town, so off I went. It was Hwang Gop! Located in the shopping arcade of the LH Complex 26 apartments, it had convenient parking and great access too.

The interior was incredibly pleasant and spacious. The atmosphere was completely on-trend, shall we say~ On nice days, you could use the outdoor seating too. Since it has an open kitchen, I could see the cooking, and it was managed hygienically, so I could eat with confidence.

Ordering the Hwang Gop Assorted Platter and pre-meal extras

I could order using the tablet set up at the table. I chose the Hwang Gop Assorted Platter, which lets you try various cuts at once, including gopchang (beef small intestine), daechang (beef large intestine), and makchang (beef fourth stomach). Individual cuts and gopchang hot pot were also available.

As soon as I ordered, the pre-meal food came out. But isn’t this amazing? They give you muksabal (acorn jelly in chilled broth)!!! It was packed with slushy ice, and the sweet-tangy flavor was so good. It’s so good~

And one more thing: yukhoe (Korean-style beef tartare) came out too!!! As a complimentary extra!! This place’s pre-meal service was seriously incredible. A place that gives you yukhoe and muksabal when you order beef intestinesㅠㅠ

A generous assortment from gopchang to daechang

While I was eating the pre-meal dishes, the Hwang Gop Assorted Platter arrived. There was gopchang, makchang, daechang, beef heart, pork belly brisket, mushrooms, and heaps of vegetables. The presentation was totally amazing!! It was a really generous amount for two people. You could get full just eating the gopchang. This was not a trick to make you feel full—they genuinely served lots of the rich filling.

What’s more, there was no unpleasant smell at all, and it was so delicious!! I could grab more garlic chives from the self-service bar, along with green onion kimchi and myeongi namul (pickled wild garlic leaves).

The beef heart was ready to eat once the pinkness was gone! There was no gamey smell at all, and it was wonderfully chewy and delicious.

The makchang was really delicious tooㅠㅠ If you do not like every cut, you can order them individually. (I like them all >0<)

The gopchang was packed with filling. It was nutty, not tough, and had no unpleasant odor, so it was delicious and savory even without sauce. The umami was great.

The daechang was wrapped up tight like sundae (Korean blood sausage), but once cooked well, it transformed into a flower shape like this. So fascinating!! Its tender, soft flavor was superb.

Just imagine how delicious it was with myeongi namul~~ The side dishes were tasty too, and having a self-service bar made it the best because I could enjoy everything without feeling pressuredㅠㅠ

Extra mushrooms and kimchi fried rice to finish

As I ate, I wanted more mushrooms, so I ordered an extra portion!! It was only ₩3,000, but there was more than I expected. There were so many that I only put in about half, haha. It was great to get a generous serving of vegetables too.

Even when you are truly full, you cannot skip fried rice. I rallied and ordered it too. Instead of frying the rice on the existing grill, they made it on a new one!!

It had seaweed flakes and kimchi in it, so it was wonderfully sweet and tangy. From start to finish, including that perfect kimchi fried rice, this Geomdan New Town gopchang spot was Hwang Gop Geomdan New Town Branch.
