Today I want to introduce the perfect spot for anyone looking for a get-together or work dinner place near Samseong Station and COEX, a real hub for office workers. It's a place where spicy-sweet grilled octopus stir-fry, tender bossam (boiled pork), and crispy mung bean pancake come together in perfect harmony. This is Obongjip Samseong Branch❗

Obongjip Samseong Branch is at 62 Teheran-ro 81-gil, 1F, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and it's open daily from 11:00 to 22:00. Break time is 14:30–17:00, last order is at 21:30, and there's no parking. Groups, takeout, and delivery are all available.
Obongjip Samseong Branch is a 5-minute walk from Samseong Jungang Station Exit 5! Obongjip is already super famous as an octopus stir-fry spot and has apparently been on TV a lot haha. You can also eat cheaply with the lunch special, so it seems like a great choice for a COEX lunch too!
A 50-seat hall that works for a Samseong Station work dinner
As you can see, the interior of Obongjip Samseong Branch was really spacious. It could hold up to about 50 people, so I'd also recommend it as a work dinner spot near Samseong Station!
Self-serve bar: banchan, floss, hair ties and plum juice
The self-serve bar at Obongjip Samseong Branch had side dishes, but also thoughtful little extras like floss and hair ties, plus plum juice ready for dessert!
We didn't try it, but there was also a nostalgic drawing/lottery event! The grand prize is a ₩200,000 Shinsegae gift card, which is a nice little bonus, no?

What we ordered at Obongjip and what comes with it
We ordered the grilled octopus stir-fry ₩14,000 (2 servings), mung bean pancake ₩15,000, and the bossam set ₩12,000.
Seaweed soup, bean sprouts, sausage, white kimchi, seasoned vegetable side dishes, ssamjang (dipping sauce), and chili peppers all come out as the basic table setting!
The seaweed soup was warm and surprisingly delicious — it had clams in it, so it had a really deep flavor.
So much food came out and filled the whole table — let me introduce each dish one by one!
Grilled octopus stir-fry, 14,000 won, and the octopus rice bowl
Grilled octopus stir-fry ₩14,000 (2 servings). You could call this Obongjip's signature dish — the grilled scent hits your nose the moment it arrives.
Utensils are provided so you can just cut it into easy-to-eat pieces! The octopus wasn't chewy at all — it was really plump and tender.
Every table has sesame oil ready! Mix in the sesame oil plus some seaweed flakes from the self-serve bar with the octopus stir-fry, and it turns into an octopus rice bowl absolutely packed with smoky flavor🔥
Bossam set at 12,000 won, or 11,000 won as the lunch special
The bossam set ₩12,000 comes with tender boiled pork, dried radish strips, and rice together. The lunch special is only ₩11,000 — isn't that great value? I'd really recommend this as a COEX lunch spot too..❤
If you've eaten a fair amount of meat, you probably already know that this cartilage part of the bossam is the tastiest cut, right?
The bossam was boiled completely tender with no gamey smell, so it went perfectly with the dried radish strips, and it was also a great match with salted shrimp!
Mung bean pancake on the side, 15,000 won
Mung bean pancake ₩15,000. Among Korean pancakes, we really love mung bean pancake, and while looking for a good side dish, we spotted it on the menu!
Honestly, we ordered it without much expectation, but it turned out to be so crispy and nutty that we ended up loving it.
The plum juice dessert at the end was the perfect palate cleanser🫶🏻 I recommend Obongjip for a COEX lunch, a COEX midday meal, or a Samseong Station work dinner — it fits any occasion!
