Samseong Station group dinner spot with makgeolli kettle: Yangeunine

In short

Yangeunine Samseong Station Branch is a Korean restaurant on Teheran-ro 83-gil in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, serving squid bossam (steamed pork wraps with squid) and spicy pollack soup. Visiting on a Saturday evening after work with coworkers, the writer ordered the Yangeunine set (pollack soup, squid bossam, and naengmyeon) with a kettle of Kooksoondang makgeolli, and the pollack soup with roe and milt plus the bossam kimchi stood out. With group seating in the back, it works well as a Samseong Station group dinner spot.

Picking a menu for lunch or an after-work gathering near Samseong Station is harder than it sounds. This time I visited Yangeunine Samseong Station Branch, where you can get bossam (steamed pork wraps), pollack soup, and naengmyeon (cold noodles) all in one place. It seemed like a solid pick for office lunches, evening drinks, or a company dinner, so I wanted to introduce it.

Exterior and atmosphere

I went with coworkers in the evening after a Saturday shift, and the place was easy to spot even from a distance.

It's in a good spot for office workers near Samseong Station — for weekday lunches and evening gatherings, and for a drink with friends on weekends.

Group seating, self-serve bar, and interior atmosphere

The vibe isn't overly formal — it's a comfortable place for several people to sit together, eat, and have a drink. There's group seating in the back, which makes it perfect for a company dinner.

For dessert there's chilled sujeonggwa (cinnamon-persimmon punch), and they thoughtfully set out floss and hair ties too.

At Yangeunine, lunch comes with unlimited rice and soup! Such a good deal these days when everything's so expensive, haha.

And at the self-serve bar you can freely grab extra side dishes, which was great.

Menu and how to order

You order via the tablet at your table. The menu items that caught my eye most at Yangeunine were the squid bossam and the spicy pollack soup. If you don't want to miss out on anything, the Yangeunine set gets you spicy pollack soup + squid bossam + naengmyeon — a great combo that covers both a full meal and drinking snacks.

They're also running a Naver review event, so make sure to join in :)

How was the food

First, the basic side dishes come neatly arranged.

How could you not order makgeolli with this menu!! Haha. We ordered Kooksoondang, and they served it up in a kettle, which was such a nice touch. Somehow makgeolli poured from a kettle just tastes better, haha.

Spicy pollack soup with roe and milt

The pollack soup that followed just needs about 10 minutes of simmering. The spicy, punchy broth paired well with the bossam, cutting through its richness in between bites. Plus it had roe and milt in it. And you know how it is at a drinking table — one spicy soup like this and the drinks just keep flowing. A coworker who came with me said the pollack soup was so good they wanted to come back just for that.

Squid bossam and bossam kimchi

Adding squid to the bossam gives it more texture variety than plain bossam alone. Tender bossam pork, chewy squid, and bossam kimchi together — pure heaven!! And this place is genuinely great for bossam kimchi. So good. It pairs perfectly with makgeolli especially.

A great choice near Samseong Station when you want both a meat dish and a seafood dish at once.

Cold naengmyeon eaten to finish the meal

Couldn't skip the Naver review event either. I wrote a thoughtful review and the owner gave us extra — the best. Chewy, tender texture, no gamey smell on the meat, so we finished the pyeonyuk (sliced boiled meat) plate in no time.

Finishing off bossam and pollack soup with naengmyeon at the end makes for a fully satisfying meal. The cold noodles clean up the richness nicely — a perfect Korean-style finish.

Especially if you're visiting with several people, you can split bossam, squid, pollack soup, and naengmyeon, so there's a wide range of choice.

Final thoughts — how is it as a Samseong Station group dinner spot

Personally, I think Yangeunine's strength is its range of menu options. You can go bossam-only, center the meal around pollack soup, or order squid bossam and naengmyeon together to split among several people. That's why it works well both for office workers looking for good value near Samseong Station and for group gatherings. Especially for a company dinner, it's a plus that you're not stuck picking one dish to suit one person's taste — you get meat, seafood, soup, and noodles all together.

If you're looking for a Korean restaurant near Samseong Station that works from lunch through evening drinks, definitely check out Yangeunine Samseong Station Branch.
