Kid-friendly Italian restaurant on Ilsan's Bamlidan-gil: Millepollie

In short

Millepollie is an Italian restaurant on a quiet side street of Bamlidan-gil in Ilsandong-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi. At a window seat with her pasta-loving son, the writer ordered gamberi aglio (22,000 won) and pescatore (24,300 won), and was pleased with everything from the warm bread to the plump clams and mussels. Even her son, who dislikes tomato sauce, gave Millepollie a thumbs-up, making it a good pasta restaurant for a family meal with kids.

Being tucked away on a quiet alley, it wasn't crowded at all, and it was the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed meal!

Inside Millepollie: the atmosphere and window seat

The interior had warm lighting and wood-tone décor, cozy yet clean. The tables were spaced generously apart, so conversation never felt cramped.

Even the exterior had a tidy, atmospheric feel that got me excited before I even walked in.

The moment I stepped inside, the warm lighting and wood-tone interior caught my eye. 👀🤍 Overall it was cozy yet clean, making it comfortable to enjoy a meal.

The gap between tables was generous, so talking felt easy. We ended up at a window seat, and the soft natural light made the atmosphere lovely even in the daytime (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

What we ordered, plus the bread basket

At Millepollie we ordered two dishes: gamberi aglio for 22,000 won and pescatore for 24,300 won. The bread came out warm, which made a great first impression.

The outside was crisp and the inside soft, and dipping it in the olive oil that came alongside brought out an even richer, nuttier flavor. (I think they use good olive oil — so good! I dipped it generously!) It was great to enjoy lightly before the main dishes arrived, and satisfying enough on its own (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

Gamberi Aglio — ₩22,000

Gamberi aglio 🧄🦐 is an oil pasta loaded with fresh shrimp and garlic. The noodles were cooked just right for a great texture, and the oil wasn't overly greasy, so I could enjoy it all the way to the last bite.

The nutty flavor of the olive oil harmonized with a gentle spiciness, making it easy to enjoy without feeling heavy.

A big shrimp sits on top, and the rest of the shrimp had a nice springy texture too, great to chew on! ( •̀ .̫ •́ )✧ If you like oil pasta, you'd really enjoy this one (says my son)

Pescatore — ₩24,300

Pescatore 🦀🐚🦐🍅 is a tomato pasta packed with a variety of seafood. The savory flavor drawn out from the seafood soaked naturally into the tomato sauce, so every bite carried a deep, rich flavor.

The tomato sauce's acidity wasn't too strong, so I think anyone would enjoy it! It wasn't just a plain tomato pasta sauce — it had almost a tomato-plus-olive-pasta feel, which was so good,,! Totally my style 🍅 The sauce clung well to the noodles too, and the flavor never got tiring, making it a dish anyone would love. (My son, who's usually a tomato-sauce hater, gave it a thumbs-up and ate happily)

The clams and mussel meat were plump and fresh! If you love seafood, I'd definitely recommend ordering this one.

Is it okay to bring kids?

Even with a child along, we were able to enjoy the meal comfortably at Millepollie, and the staff were kind and welcoming, so we finished the meal in a good mood. If you're deciding on a spot for a date or a family meal, this could be a great choice!

Both dishes had their own clear appeal. If you like a light oil pasta, go for the gamberi aglio; if you want a rich seafood flavor, I'd recommend the pescatore 🤍 Both the atmosphere and the food were satisfying, so if you're looking for a good pasta place in Ilsan, this is a restaurant I'd recommend.

Next time, I'd love to also try the risotto or pizza menu. A pasta place that both my pasta-loving son and I thoroughly enjoyed! 💙(╹ڡ╹ )
