Ilsan Italian restaurant for red crab rosé risotto: Millepollie
In short
Millepollie is an Italian restaurant on Bamlidan-gil in Ilsan, Goyang, Gyeonggi. On a fall holiday, two of us booked Millepollie through Catchtable and ordered the granchio risotto, a gorgonzola pizza and lasagna: a creamy rosé risotto with red crab, a thin gorgonzola pizza and a lasagna with plenty of sauce, and all three were satisfying. Millepollie is a Bamlidan-gil date-dinner spot worth revisiting to try the pasta next time.

Why I booked Millepollie on Bamlidan-gil for a fall holiday
Millepollie is an Italian restaurant on Bamlidan-gil in Ilsan, and I booked it through Catchtable for a fall holiday dinner. The weather was gorgeous over the holiday, so I went looking for a nice place to eat on Bamlidan-gil. I had heard a while ago that everything at Millepollie is delicious, and when I searched, the reviews were still amazing. So I made a reservation on Catchtable.

I think the design really suits the fall season.

Millepollie has a break time between 3 PM and 5 PM. The notice banner is pretty too, isn't it?
What is the atmosphere like at Millepollie?

Millepollie has a wide selection of wine, and lots of guests were having it with their meal. I don't drink wine myself, but so many people there were! With that much variety, wine lovers should enjoy a meal here too.

The kitchen staff were hard at work, and when the kitchen is open like this, it makes you trust the place more!!

It was lovely to see everyone out together over the holiday, enjoying their meals.

I heard that Millepollie is Italian for "a thousand leaves." The owner wanted to create a place where a variety of flavors and joys coexist. And they really did try a wide range of dishes, and all of them are delicious.
The Millepollie menu and the three dishes we chose for two

The Millepollie menu is divided into salad, pizza, risotto and pasta.

Pasta

The two of us ordered three dishes: lasagna, gorgonzola pizza and Grancchio risotto. The pasta here is famous too, so I agonized over it, but Koreans want rice, right? So we went with risotto, and I'd like to try the pasta next time.

Starter bread and olive oil
The starter bread at Millepollie was studded with olives and incredibly soft. My dining mate said the bread was so good and that they were looking forward to the meal to come.

The olive oil must be a good one too, because the flavor was wonderful.

What does the Grancchio risotto taste like?
Millepollie's Grancchio risotto is a rosé-based risotto made with domestic red crab (hongge). It wasn't the kind of rosé with a strong tomato tang; it was a smooth, creamy one. The domestic red crab gives it a rich, bisque-like depth, and you also get the popping texture of flying fish roe.

They grate cheese over it with a grinder, which makes it even better. We asked for extra sauce, so it was almost like mixing rice into soup, all sloshy and delicious.

The red crab is chewy and tasty. With risotto, how well the rice is cooked matters a lot, right? This was exactly the plump, springy rice you want in a good risotto.

Gorgonzola pizza: thin dough dipped in honey
The gorgonzola pizza at Millepollie has dough that is really, really, really thin and melts right into your mouth. The aroma of the four-cheese gorgonzola is balanced very well. The chew of the pistachios was nice too.

I loved the texture of the pizza, chewy yet crispy. Looking at the photos, I want gorgonzola pizza again! Dipping it in honey was so good.

Why the lasagna at Millepollie is so famous
The lasagna turns out to be a very famous dish at Millepollie. They put in cheese without holding back, and the sauce is generous, which was exactly my taste. Lots of people seemed to be ordering the ragu pasta, and now I understand why.

Can you see that cross-section packed with ragu sauce? I think lasagna is only good when it's loaded with lots of things. I recommend the Millepollie lasagna. The three dishes went so well together that we happily inhaled everything.

Millepollie parking, hours and reservation tips
Millepollie has parking spaces in front of the restaurant, but since it's Bamlidan-gil, parking isn't very easy. Eating a little early seems to work out fine.
The night deepened over delicious food. After eating so eagerly, I was pleasantly full. And the owner is truly kind. We enjoyed our meal in a really good mood.
Here is Millepollie at night, even prettier from the outside. I plan to go again next time. Bamlidan-gil has lots of cafés, so you can even take care of a second round of dessert after the meal.
- Parking: available
- Hours: 11:30-21:30 (break time 15:00-17:00)
