Daehangno western restaurant with restroom mouthwash: Omil Hyehwa
In short
Omil Hyehwa Daehangno is a western restaurant on the second floor of a building on Daemyeong-gil in Jongno, Seoul, an easy date stop before or after a play in Daehangno. Ordering runs through a QR code at the table, and the rubber duck omurice arrived with a quail-egg duck face and a rubber duck toy, while the Omil Steak came as moist sous-vide fan steak. The self-bar with phone chargers and pickles, plus mouthwash in the restroom, made Omil Hyehwa Daehangno feel unusually well prepared.

Today I want to introduce a super cute little restaurant that's perfect for a date in Hyehwa, Daehangno. It sits right along the route you'd take before or after seeing a play, so I really recommend it as a date course. The vibe and the menu are all so adorable that it'd be great to bring a girlfriend or even a kid along. It's a place called Omil, and I'll share my honest review right now :)

Where is Omil Hyehwa Daehangno and what are the hours?
Omil Hyehwa Daehangno is on the 2nd floor at 58-2 Myeongnyun 4(sa)-ga, Jongno-gu, Seoul. It's open daily from 11:30 to 21:15, with last order at 20:30, and a weekday break time from 15:15 to 16:30.
Outside and inside Omil Hyehwa Daehangno

Omil is located on the 2nd floor of the building. Right from the entrance going up, the exterior is so cute. There's a cheerful butter-colored door with an adorable smiley face painted on it, so it catches your eye from far away and instantly puts you in a good mood!

Once you step inside, the interior is just as charmingly decorated.

Overall it's cozy yet clean, so it's nice for a relaxed meal, and it also looked comfortable enough to enjoy solo.

There's also a separate restroom inside the restaurant, and I was surprised at how clean it was! They even thoughtfully provided mouthwash, so you can leave feeling completely fresh after your meal — I really loved that.
How does QR code ordering work at Omil?

At Omil Hyehwa Daehangno, you order by sitting down and tagging a QR code with your smartphone. You don't need to loudly call over a staff member — you can smoothly order on your own, which is really convenient these days.

Once you scan the QR, the menu spreads out neatly on the screen, making it easy to choose.
What is stocked at the Omil self-bar?

The self-service bar in one corner of the restaurant has phone chargers, wet wipes, tissues, and pickles all neatly arranged.

There's also a separate water station where you can pour your own water into a paper cup.

And if you take part in the review event, they'll give you one free ade, so make sure to check that out!
What we ordered at Omil Hyehwa Daehangno

After ordering, a staff member brought over the cutlery.

We ordered a cola to drink, and even the cup was full of cuteness.

There were so many delicious-looking menu items that it was hard to decide, but in the end we ordered the Omil Steak and the rubber duck omurice (fried rice wrapped in egg)!
Rubber duck omurice: how it looks and tastes
Finally, the adorable rubber duck omurice we'd been waiting for arrived!

On top of the fluffy, swirled egg sits a quail egg with eyes and a beak drawn on it in such detail that it really looked like a little baby duck sitting there.
It looked almost too good to eat.
They also gave us a gift — a cute rubber duck plush wearing a tube float — so we got to take home a little extra bit of happiness too.
Inside the omurice was fried rice.

Eating it together with the special sauce and the soft egg made for a really harmonious, delicious combination.
Omil Steak, a sous-vide fan steak

The steak we'd been waiting for finally arrived too!

Maybe because it's cooked sous-vide at a low temperature, the meat was incredibly moist and tender, not tough at all.
It's a fan steak (a flat, fan-shaped cut) served with a red wine sauce, so the flavor didn't get boring and had a slightly different, appealing character.

It came with crispy fries on the side, perfect for alternating bites with the steak.
Is Omil Hyehwa Daehangno worth a Daehangno date?

If you're looking for a can't-miss restaurant for a date in Hyehwa, Daehangno, or a pretty spot for photos, definitely stop by Omil Hyehwa Daehangno with its adorable rubber duck omurice and delicious food! It's a place that nails both cute looks and great taste, so I'm sure you'll be satisfied :D
