On my day off I wanted a proper, filling lunch, so I headed to Kuu Kuu, a Nowon favorite.

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is on the 6th floor of Seoul Oncheon at 247 Nowon-ro, Nowon-gu, Seoul. It's open 11:00–21:30 on weekdays and 11:00–22:00 on weekends (last order is 1 hour before closing). You can book through Naver, and you can also sign up for the waiting list on site.

Parking is available in the building's underground lot, free for 2 hours. If the lot is full, I'd recommend the Seoul Science Museum parking lot, about a 10-minute walk.

Is Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch good for a family gathering with kids?

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has a kids' café area for children up to age 7. Since kids can play while they eat, it's a nice place to have a meal with little ones.

It also has a large hall with 300 seats, so it works really well for family events, group gatherings and company dinners. High chairs are available too, which makes eating out as a family easy. It's fully set up as a Nowon spot for family get-togethers.

What sushi is there at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch?

The sushi counter has so many varieties that it's hard even to count them. There's also soy-marinated shrimp sushi, which I personally love.

The disappointing part: there was no tako wasabi (octopus with wasabi)... T_T It's always the first thing I grab, and I think I circled the counter two or three times looking for it, haha.

The cockle bibimbap (seasoned cockles over rice) looked so tempting that I grabbed a bowl right away.

Dessert, ice cream and meat corners at Kuu Kuu Nowon

I couldn't take my eyes off the desserts at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch! I'm on a diet, but once you're at Kuu Kuu you have to forget that. (Diet starts tomorrow!!) There are so many kinds that just looking at them makes me happy.

There are lots of ice cream flavors, and there's even bead-style ice cream. Kids are going to love it.

On the fired-up display table, all kinds of meat dishes are laid out looking delicious.

Chinese, Western, Korean, salads: there are so many choices that I couldn't get to everything. With a balanced spread that anyone, young or old, will like, it's a Nowon buffet that's good value and easy for everyone to enjoy.

Weekday lunch at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch: what I actually ate

I started with sushi and a little salad. As you'd expect from a sushi buffet, the sushi was tasty and fresh. The salad vegetables were fresh too, and I liked the variety.

Next came meat and other dishes, and every one of them was hearty. Toward the end of the meal I had the mulhoe (cold spicy raw fish soup), and it was cool, tangy and spicy, a clean finish.

One plate picked out from the many desserts, haha. Honestly I wanted to eat them all, but I was so full, and that was a real shame.

How was the service at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch?

The staff at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch were very kind, cleared empty plates quickly and refilled the food fast, so you could feel how carefully they pay attention.

With a big hall and a wide range of dishes, Kuu Kuu is a Nowon favorite for family gatherings that everyone loves. There's a reason it's so popular.
