Cheonan brunch café with an all-day prosciutto open sandwich: Siyudang

If you're looking for a café with a nice atmosphere for brunch in Cheonan, Siyudang is definitely worth a visit! It had been recommended to me several times, and it's in Pungse, only 15 minutes by car from Cheonanasan Station!

It's mostly known as a big café, so I only expected coffee and bakery items, but when I actually had a meal there, the brunch satisfied me even more, so I wanted to recommend it. I'll tell you about the dishes I ate myself, too!! The space is huge and pretty, and the brunch menu was sooo satisfying that I thought, "Only using it as a café would be a bit of a waste." When you visit Siyudang, please, please try the brunch menu too. (It's a brunch menu, but you can order it all day!)

Where is Siyudang in Cheonan, and is parking easy?

Siyudang is a large three-floor café near Taehaksan Recreation Forest in Pungse-myeon, Cheonan, and the parking lot is big, so parking is very easy. The lot is wide and the building itself is huge, so it caught my eye right away.

Siyudang is a brunch café in Cheonan, and parking is very convenient too. The lot is quite wide, so even beginner drivers can visit comfortably! And the drive to Pungse isn't that hard.

There are outdoor tables too, so when the weather is nice it's perfect for eating outside!

What breads and drinks does Siyudang offer?

Siyudang is famous as a bakery café in Cheonan, and the variety of bread is really wide, especially the salt bread (a buttery roll with a salted base).

Like a proper Cheonan café, Siyudang has drinks of every kind. With summer here, there's also handmade cup bingsu (Korean shaved ice)! And with the teas, you can smell the leaves.

Does Siyudang have an elevator?

Siyudang has an elevator, so you can comfortably get up to the 3rd floor. The restroom is on the 2nd floor, and the 4th floor has a zinnia garden.

Like a big Cheonan café, Siyudang has plenty of places to sit. The interior is wood-toned overall, so it felt warm, and with lots of tall windows it also felt open.

There's floor seating like this too, so lots of people had come with kids.

Siyudang 3rd floor: floor-to-ceiling window views and outdoor seats

The 3rd-floor seats at Siyudang have tall windows, so the view was good too. Even though it's a café, the atmosphere makes you want to stay long, so it was just right for a slow meal followed by coffee.

The 3rd floor also has outdoor seats like this, so when the weather is nice you can comfortably enjoy the outdoor atmosphere.

Siyudang 4th floor: windmill and zinnia garden

The 4th-floor rooftop at Siyudang has no seats, but there's a windmill path for an easy stroll, and zinnias (colorful daisy-like flowers) in pretty bloom.

The flowers are in full bloom, so kids and adults can enjoy it together. It's a great photo spot, so it was nice for a short wander after eating, and I liked that, like a proper big café, it has things to see too. On a sunny day I think you could get even prettier photos.

What we ordered for brunch at Siyudang

At Siyudang I ordered three dishes: Punggi mushroom salad, prosciutto open sandwich and bisque shrimp oil pasta. Since I'd come to Siyudang, famous as a brunch café in Cheonan, I tried a wide variety of dishes.

Funghi mushroom salad: a safe pick everyone will like

First, the Punggi mushroom salad. Siyudang's version has a subtle mushroom aroma, and the fresh vegetables go well together. It wasn't a strong impression, just a safe salad that anyone can eat without fuss.

It's a salad you dress yourself like this. I felt it was a nice combination to go alongside the brunch dishes.

Prosciutto open sandwich: the dish to order first at Siyudang

One of the dishes I was happiest with at Siyudang was the prosciutto open sandwich! I really recommend it! The fragrant basil pesto plus the onion salad made the whole thing tangy and clean, and it all went together really well. I felt the balance was great!

The salty prosciutto was balanced too, and from the first bite I thought, "I want this again." So I ate it veeery slowly,, If you're wondering what brunch dish to get, this is the first one I'd recommend.

It was so good that I started wondering how delicious the shrimp open sandwich must be. Next time.. I want to try the shrimp open sandwich too. But skipping this prosciutto open sandwich would be a shame.. that's how strongly I recommend it! It's a brunch menu item, but you can order it all day.

Bisque shrimp oil pasta: rich bisque flavor with a mild kick

Another dish that left a big impression was Siyudang's bisque shrimp oil pasta. Even though it's an oil pasta, the bisque aroma came through really strongly and the flavor was great, and with a moderate spiciness added, I kept reaching for more.

I'd been curious about bisque after seeing it on Culinary Class Wars (a Korean TV cooking competition), and it was more satisfying than I'd hoped. There was a generous amount of shrimp and the sauce was really good, so I think I'd order this again on my next visit!!

Eating like this, I thought Siyudang should become even more famous as a brunch café. That's how good all the dishes were,, I'd been told it's a big café with a nice atmosphere, but I think leaving Siyudang without eating a meal would be such a shame! I highly recommend the brunch menu!!!!

Is Siyudang worth visiting just for coffee?

Siyudang is widely known as a big café in Cheonan, so I think many people visit thinking only of drinks and bakery items. I did too! But when I actually had a meal, the brunch menu was totally beyond my expectations.

The food was good, the space was pretty and the staff were kind, so overall satisfaction was high. If you're looking for a brunch café in Cheonan, I recommend enjoying a meal too rather than just coffee. Only using it as a café would really be a waste of the food~!
