Went to Buchigom for dinner near Yeongdeungpo-gu Office! The weather's been so nice lately that I wanted to eat outside rather than indoors, and Buchigom actually has outdoor patio seats‼️ Perfect vibe for eating outside on a cool day~~!

It's one of the few places near Yeongdeungpo-gu Office with outdoor seating, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a patio spot!

What's on the Buchigom menu besides pancakes

I thought Buchigom only had pancake dishes, but the menu turned out to be way more varied than I expected! Lots of items you wouldn't find at a typical bar. The signature dishes are whole whelk stew and raw whelk salad bossam. There are also set menus combining the signature dishes, so if you're visiting with a group, ordering a set seems like a good idea.

Only three patio tables — and one was free on the holiday

There are three tables for outdoor seating like this. Every time I've walked by on a weekday, the patio was always full, but since we went on a holiday, we got lucky and were seated outside right away >.<

The weather was so nice that we sat outside enjoying the cool breeze

The indoor seating area was bigger than expected too, so it'd be good for group gatherings!

Tablet ordering and the free side dishes at Buchigom

You order at the table via tablet! Since the food is Korean-style, the drink selection was huge too — everything from makgeolli to traditional liquors!!

The basic side dish is cabbage with ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste dip), and dipping the crunchy cabbage in the ssamjang was tasty

Does the strawberry smoothie makgeolli taste like real strawberries?

We ordered the strawberry smoothie makgeolli 🍓 It gave off that fusion-style vibe you'd want at this kind of Korean pub

True to its name, the makgeolli (Korean rice wine) was really thick. One sip and it's real strawberry flavor!! Not just strawberry flavoring — it tastes like actual strawberries blended into the makgeolli. So sweet and delicious

How were the whelk salad bossam and minari pancake?

💛Main dishes arrive💛 We ordered the raw whelk salad bossam and the minari pancake. The spread looked plentiful as soon as it arrived — very satisfying! The bossam (boiled pork wraps) came sliced into easy bite sizes, and it wasn't dry at all — genuinely soft!! Wrapping it with the mujigi (aged kimchi) that came alongside is always a winning combo 🥹

Next to the bossam came whelk salad and thin wheat noodles — tossing the noodles and topping with a piece of whelk is amazing 😇 The whelk salad cuts through any richness from the bossam alone, so the combo is so good!

The bossam is delicious on its own, but first try a piece with perilla leaf plus aged kimchi in one bite! The bossam itself is moist and tender, and it's even better with the aged kimchi

My favorite combo was bossam plus whelk salad. Piling whelk salad generously on the bossam and wrapping it in perilla leaf — this is genuinely delicious

Why you should order the minari pancake at Buchigom

And personally, the most memorable dish was the minari pancake! They really don't skimp on the minari. It's not just a thick batter pancake — it's genuinely crispy

It's packed full of minari, which makes it so good. If you go to Buchigom, definitely order the minari pancake!! Dip it lightly in soy sauce for extra savory depth. Highly recommend

Good food with a sip of makgeolli. The strawberry makgeolli goes down smoothly without the heavy, chalky taste of regular makgeolli, so it might work even for people who usually don't do well with makgeolli! Eating the spicy whelk salad and then sipping the sweet strawberry makgeolli in between made everything disappear fast 🩷

Buchigom was a great spot for a drink near Yeongdeungpo-gu Office with a nice patio vibe!

With a varied menu and set menus good for groups, it'd work well for company dinners or gatherings near Yeongdeungpo-gu Office too. A great place to visit on a nice day when you want pancakes and makgeolli outdoors 🍻‼️ Next time I want to sit on the patio again and try the whole whelk stew with minari pancake!
