The weather's been so nice and cool lately — perfect for drinks outside, right? On a Saturday evening, my husband and I wanted to properly soak in that outdoor drinking atmosphere near Yeongdeungpo-gu Office, so we headed to 'Buchigom Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Branch,' a well-known spot in the area.

When we visited on Saturday evening, the place was buzzing with people, true to its reputation as a hotspot. The interior looked stylish and inviting, but we wanted to soak in that cool night-air, outdoor drinking atmosphere, so we grabbed a spot outside.

Sitting at the outdoor tables in front of the shop, the cool breeze and the lively evening energy of Yeongdeungpo made us even more excited for drinks. It's rare to find a Korean bar near Yeongdeungpo-gu Office with such an open outdoor setup — Buchigom was exactly the atmosphere we were after.

The moment we sat down, we were craving tasty snacks and a cold bowl of makgeolli, so we scanned the menu. There were plenty of Korean dishes to choose from, but we went with Set 1 to properly enjoy the restaurant's signature items.

Next up, the raw whelk salad bossam didn't disappoint either. The plate was piled generously with chewy raw whelk in a spicy-tangy dressing alongside tender boiled bossam pork.

The pork had zero unpleasant smell and was full of savory flavor, pairing beautifully with the spicy salad.

Wrapping a piece of bossam pork, whelk salad, and crunchy vegetables in a fragrant perilla leaf and eating it all in one bite was pure bliss! It was the best pairing to keep the makgeolli flowing.

Delicious food plus a cold bowl of makgeolli made for a truly perfect weekend evening. Especially enjoying that outdoor drinking mood with my husband — pure happiness.

Is Set 1 enough food for two people?

Honestly, when we ordered, we were worried it wouldn't be enough — but 'Set 1' turned out to be so generous for two that we were stuffed to bursting. Both the taste and the portion were so satisfying that it was almost a shame we couldn't order anything more. Beyond the food, we were also touched by the service.

Even though it was a super busy Saturday evening with a full house, both the owner and staff were incredibly kind from start to finish. Whenever we needed something, they took care of it quickly with a bright smile, which made the whole meal a genuinely pleasant, relaxed experience.
