Seafood restaurant in Oido with unlimited giant scallops: Sanhaejinmi
In short
Sanhaejinmi is a newly opened all-you-can-eat eel and shellfish restaurant by the sea near the red lighthouse in Oido, Siheung. On a weekday afternoon the writer paid 45,000 won per person for pre-grilled domestic Japonica eel, live giant scallops, abalone and clams, plus naengsam (thin-sliced frozen pork belly) and ramen, and the quality stayed the same through every refill. Getting giant scallops rather than the usual red scallops on unlimited refills is the biggest draw of Sanhaejinmi in Oido.

Thick eel as standard, plus unlimited giant scallops! A brand-new hotspot with an ocean view: Sanhaejinmi in Oido.
What is Sanhaejinmi in Oido like?
Sanhaejinmi (산해진미) is a newly opened all-you-can-eat eel and giant scallop restaurant in Oido, Siheung. My best friend lives in Oido, so I drop by now and then for a breath of fresh air, and this time I heard a new hotspot had opened!! Unlimited eel AND unlimited giant scallops in Oido? How could I not go? Start the engine~!!
It was a weekday afternoon, so even Oido's landmark red lighthouse was quiet, which made for a nice stroll along the shore haha.

Newly opened in Oido, Sanhaejinmi is an all-you-can-eat spot where you can enjoy eel and shellfish together in generous amounts. You get thick domestic Japonica eel, giant scallops, clams and pork belly until you're stuffed. They say the unlimited giant scallops are a first for Oido! Add the sweeping ocean view out the window, and it suits family meals as well as friends or couples.
How to get to Sanhaejinmi from the Oido red lighthouse
With your back to the red lighthouse, keep walking to the right and Sanhaejinmi is the red building at the very end. Walking along the sea like a stroll, you'll be there in no time.

Follow the seaside road and a building with a bright red exterior stands out. This is Sanhaejinmi, the all-you-can-eat eel place in Oido. It's a big four-story building that's easy to spot from afar, and it felt clean, as a newly opened restaurant should. The glass walls reflected the sky, which made it feel even grander haha. There were congratulatory wreaths on the first floor too, so it really had that brand-new feel haha.
The key thing is that the sea is right in front. I couldn't wait to see the ocean view through those big windows! Heading in now~ 'ㅅ'

What are the interior and the ocean-view window seats like?
Sanhaejinmi is on the 2nd floor, but don't worry, there's an elevator haha. It felt clean and pleasant, as a new place should. The tables are spaced generously, so family gatherings and groups looked comfortable too. From the window seats you can see Oido's sea spread out below, so you get an open ocean view throughout the meal.
We sat at the window at first, but the bright July sun beat us haha. It was so hot and dazzling that we fled to a seat further inside haha.

Each table has a shelf neatly stocked with cups, spoons and chopsticks, sauces and small plates. You can grab whatever you need right away, so you hardly ever have to call a staff member. Seeing this attention to small details, I felt it was a restaurant designed to be really convenient for customers.

How do you order the all-you-can-eat at Sanhaejinmi?
You order the all-you-can-eat per person, and children aged 10 and under are chosen according to their age. The menu is simple haha. Eel and scallop refills can be ordered right on the tablet, which was handy. Some items cost extra depending on the menu, so check before you order~ haha.

A review event is running too~ The event items are menbosha (shrimp toast) or a drink. Huh? Menbosha, suddenly? But oh? It turned out to be a treat haha.

After we ordered by headcount, staff first brought out corn cheese loaded with cheese and an iron plate topped with kimchi. They kindly explained that side dishes and anything else we need are at the self-serve corner.

What's at the Sanhaejinmi self-serve corner?
The self-serve corner at Sanhaejinmi is quite large, and everything there is unlimited. Not just eel, giant scallops and pork belly, but ramen and steamed rice too, all unlimited!! Isn't this place way too generous!!
While the eel, scallops and clams were being prepared, I first grabbed pork belly from the self-serve corner. I also piled up plenty of side dishes to go with it haha. The naengsam (unmarinated, thinly sliced pork belly) was just the right thickness. As someone who isn't great with seafood, I was so glad pork belly was there too. That's exactly why I can confidently recommend it for family gatherings or group dinners. Especially if you come with a child who can't eat eel or shellfish, there's nothing to worry about since Sanhaejinmi has pork belly too haha.

I put the naengsam on the iron plate and started stir-frying it with kimchi! As the pork cooked, a savory aroma rose, and stir-fried with kimchi the flavor doubled~! This is a total appetite cheat code haha.

Sanhaejinmi's three-tier seafood tray: how's the quality for all-you-can-eat?
Sanhaejinmi's three-tier tray came with cheese scallops, abalone and domestic Japonica eel, and the abalone, giant scallops and clams were alive. While I was busy grilling meat, the tray full of seafood arrived and instantly stole the show! Even for all-you-can-eat, the thickness of the eel and the quality of the seafood were exceptional!! Oh my, I have to take a photo of this!!
Can you see it? That fresh-looking presence?? Scallops piled with cheese, plump fresh abalone, and today's star, domestic Japonica eel. I was genuinely surprised to see this quality at an all-you-can-eat place haha. They're even alive..;; I'll show you more below~
At first I put a little each of cheese scallops, plain scallops and clams on the grill. The giant scallops were so big the grill looked small haha. But that's fine. The eel comes out pre-grilled, so you only need to warm it slightly before eating~_~
I didn't expect much quality from an all-you-can-eat place, but Sanhaejinmi was different from the start. The abalone, giant scallops and clams all came out alive, so you could feel the freshness. The abalone wriggled as soon as it hit the grill, and the clams began opening their mouths one by one. It was a moment where you could see with your own eyes that Sanhaejinmi uses fresh ingredients.

How does the Japonica eel taste? Any fishy smell?
Sanhaejinmi's Japonica eel was crispy outside and moist inside, with a faint charcoal aroma and no fishy taste at all. Time to dig in like it's battle haha. The golden-grilled eel was glistening and I couldn't resist haha. Straight into my mouth~! Crispy outside, moist and tender inside. I can't eat anything with a fishy taste at all. But this eel had a subtle charcoal aroma and no fishiness whatsoever. If anything, the more I chewed, the more its clean, deep savoriness came through.

You get giant scallops, not red scallops, even on refills
The scallops at Sanhaejinmi's all-you-can-eat are big giant scallops, not the common red scallops, and refills come as giant scallops too. With the grill packed with huge scallops, the sight alone was overwhelming haha. They were much bigger than ordinary scallops, and I couldn't take my eyes off them as they opened up one after another.
Plump, springy scallop meat filled the shells, which feels hearty just to look at haha. I'll stress it once more: these are not the common red scallops. You could really feel that quality wasn't compromised just because it's all-you-can-eat.
Cheese bomb coming through~!
I only now put the corn cheese we got at the start onto the grill haha. It was so full of cheese that this cheese lover cheered out loud. There's Buldak ramen (spicy fire-chicken noodles) at the self-serve corner too, so you could enjoy that alongside~
Tips for ordering eel refills at Sanhaejinmi
One more eel refill, please~!!
At Sanhaejinmi, if you order 1 eel refill you get 1 piece, and since it comes pre-grilled it takes a little time, so it's best to order plenty in advance. Order at intervals so your eating pace doesn't slow down haha. Order early and generously.

I have no idea how many times we refilled the eel and scallops haha. With all-you-can-eat, quality often drops the more you refill, right? But Sanhaejinmi was different. No matter how many times we ordered, the quality stayed the same as the first round. Thanks to that, I enjoyed it satisfyingly down to the last bite.
Finish with self-serve corner ramen
Carbs to finish, of course!!

Our last bite at Sanhaejinmi was self-serve corner ramen. After eating eel and shellfish until full, a bowl of spicy ramen was truly a masterstroke. The hot, refreshing broth cleaned up my mouth, so my chopsticks kept going even though I was full haha. The spicy broth cut through the richness, and I enjoyed it right to the end.

Who is Sanhaejinmi in Oido recommended for?
One-line review: A place that broke my prejudice against all-you-can-eat. Great-quality eel and giant scallops to your heart's content! A new Oido hotspot with a perfect ocean view too.
Sanhaejinmi in Oido is a place I'd confidently recommend to eel lovers, and also to anyone who wants unlimited fresh shellfish. Above all, being able to eat giant scallops rather than common red scallops all-you-can-eat was Sanhaejinmi's biggest charm. Add the same quality on refills and the open ocean view, and everyone in our group was very satisfied. If you're looking for a hearty meal, a family dinner or a gathering spot in Oido, I recommend giving it a visit~
