Plate is a fresh pasta restaurant in Sunhwa-dong, Jung-gu, Daejeon, open daily from 11:00 to 21:30. There's no dedicated parking lot, so you'll need to use a nearby public parking lot! It's free on weekends and holidays, and you can also make a phone reservation.

Today I visited Plate, my favorite restaurant, with my parents! Plate is a Sunhwa-dong go-to, a fresh pasta spot — I've dragged my friends here every single time they visit Daejeon ´͈ ᵕ `͈ ♡°˚

What Plate looks like inside and how long the wait is

The inside of Plate Sunhwa branch isn't huge, with about 6 tables. There's a CatchTable stand out front, so if there's a wait, you register there and wait outside for a bit. There was one party ahead of me too, so I waited a little before getting seated!!

It's an open kitchen! Seeing the staff properly wearing hairnets and aprons while cooking, it looks like they really care about hygiene~

There's also a coat rack, which is great when I come in winter! And I remember it being decorated in a Christmas theme in winter, which made it even prettier •͈૦•͈

Plate's menu and choosing fresh or dried pasta

Plate Sunhwa branch's main menu has pasta, gnocchi, and steak, plus a variety of side dishes. And as I mentioned, it's known for fresh noodles! You can choose fresh or dried noodles depending on your preference. The menu even notes which noodle type is recommended for each dish, and since I mostly follow the recommendation, it's always tasty. By the way, all the fresh noodles are handmade ദ്ദി •⤙• )

Here's the salad and soup that came before the main course~ The soup is a homemade corn soup, and the corn flavor is so rich that my mom and dad ate it up happily ( "´༥`" )

What does Plate's truffle bacon cream gnocchi taste like?

Here's the truffle bacon cream gnocchi that I absolutely love. Every time I come to Plate, a place known for both fresh noodles and gnocchi, I always order the gnocchi! The potato gnocchi has great texture, and it doesn't taste like a cheap gnocchi that's all flour — the potato flavor comes through strong, giving it a premium taste! The mushrooms and bacon in it also go really well with the sauce, and I cleaned my plate the moment it arrived. My mom said the sauce was delicious too - ̗̀(⌯ˊᗜˋ⌯) ̖́-

Plate's steak set: creamy rosé pasta and buchaesal steak

Here's the creamy rosé pasta I chose from the steak set! I ordered it with fresh spaghetti noodles. The sauce was thick and a little spicy, and since the noodles were fresh, the seasoning soaked in well and the texture was nice and chewy.

The fanchal (skirt steak) is surprisingly affordable even ordered on its own! The meat is so tender you wouldn't believe the price, and dipped in sauce with the napa cabbage that comes alongside, the seasoning is spot-on and it has great texture too — so~ good.

Water cups, plates, and cutlery are set at the table by default, and they brought extras to match our party size. Pickles also come along, though they're not in the photo ⁽˙ᵕ˙⁾

What to order at Plate, plus cash and review promotions

I recommend the gnocchi and the steak! Those are the dishes I order every time I go to Plate, and I genuinely recommend them because the quality is great for the price!! Make sure to try the gnocchi （ʃƪ＾3＾）

Plate is running two promotions: 1. ₩1,000 off when you pay ₩30,000 or more in cash, 2. free ice cream if you leave a receipt review — so keep that in mind and treat yourself to ice cream for dessert haha. I've had it before and it was so good!

I first came to Plate through my boyfriend, and it's the place that opened my eyes to gnocchi, so now I go back whenever I'm craving it. It's good value and good quality — I've been with my boyfriend, my friends, and my parents, and everyone left happy, so if you're looking for a good-value Western restaurant, I highly recommend it!
