Where Magician JT's Science Lab is held and what tickets cost

The show is held at Geomdan Welfare Center (검단복지회관), 18 Wanjeong-ro 92beon-gil, Geomdan-gu, Incheon, South Korea. It runs Sundays at 2 PM for about an hour, parking is available at the welfare center, and tickets are ₩25,000.

We watched the show in the main hall of Geomdan Welfare Center. It runs from July 26 to August 23, 2026, and only the August 23 (Sun) 2 PM show is still bookable, so keep that in mind! Tickets are ₩25,000 each, but you get 10% off for 2, 20% off for 3, and 30% off for 4 — the more you buy, the bigger the discount~

You can get a full refund if you cancel the day before, but no cancellations on the day of the show.

Seats are first-come, first-served: what time should you arrive?

For Magician JT's Science Lab, seats are assigned on-site, first-come first-served, starting one hour before showtime. If you have a spot in mind, I'd recommend arriving a bit early!

I arrived 30 minutes early~ and by then, the front four rows or so were already filled.

While waiting to get tickets, we checked out the props laid out on the table!

So we picked an aisle seat in the 5th row! Aisle seats seemed to be pretty popular.

Since this isn't just magic but magic blended with science experiments — a science magic show for grown-up kids, so to speak — the colorful, space-themed decorations at the entrance caught my eye right away.

Inside, the view seemed good from every seat. Not too big, not too small — just right 👍🏻

The buzz in the hall before the show starts

When you take kids to a show, sometimes they get bored or lose focus before it even begins, but this time there were fun participation games set up before the show started, which I loved.

From guessing characters to spot-the-difference to a rhythm hand-clapping game — all kinds of games got the kids naturally involved. Even my introverted kids joined in enthusiastically 🙌🏻

Magician JT steals the room from his first entrance

The stage went dark, and after a moment the show began. The instant Magician JT appeared, the kids' eyes lit up, totally locked in!!

The magic started right away — he opened with some tricks we've all seen before, like flowers popping out of nowhere and rope tricks.

And then the trick the kids found the most amazing — the body-splitting illusion!! My skeptical kids kept theorizing 'it's probably done like this~' early on, but this one genuinely stumped them. They kept going 'Whoa' 'Whoa' haha.

Toto appears, and the static electricity experiment

After the opening tricks and a quick intro, out came "Toto," who'd be teaming up with JT for the rest of the show. Toto handed out gifts to kids who cheered the loudest!

My kids cheered their hearts out but didn't get a gift ㅠㅠ No need to be sad though — if you add them on KakaoTalk on your way out, you get a gift too! (Looks like it's a different kind of gift.)

They also explained the science behind each trick and showed how it worked. The static electricity experiment made a sheet of foil fly up in the air.

Since it's an audience-participation show, they pick kids to help out with the magic throughout — it seemed like younger kids were picked more often. My poor elementary schoolers were disappointed 🥹🥹

The science behind the big shout

Using nothing but the force of a shout, he filled a plastic bag with air in one second. ᐟ. ᐟ. ᐟ

And the trick I found most mind-blowing was the calculator trick~ they added up an audience member's birthday, birth year, and some randomly chosen numbers on the spot, and the total came out to 268160237 — what could that mean~? Turns out it's exactly August 16, 2026, 2:37, the moment the calculator trick started. Chills~~~~ so amazing.

The elephant toothpaste experiment

The experiment the kids loved most!! The elephant toothpaste experiment using hydrogen peroxide — a catalyst rapidly breaks the peroxide down into water and oxygen, and that oxygen mixing with detergent makes a foam column explode upward!

It reacted instantly and the foam column got enormous. With material kids love this much, there was no room to get bored.

The -196°C liquid nitrogen experiment

I really loved this experiment too~ using liquid nitrogen at a jaw-dropping -196°C, they made an actual cloud form on stage~!

Seeing this kind of experiment live really changes the kids' reactions — a cloud cannon blast~~~ that was so much fun haha.

Optical illusions on stage

We also learned about optical illusions ~.ᐟ. ᐟ. ᐟ he even showed us how to do it and told the kids to try it on friends at school haha.

Everyone in the audience played a fun ball-rolling game together~

The encore is a laser show

The hour flew by so fast it felt like a shame — but wait, there was an encore?! Hahaha.

The encore they'd prepared was a "laser show." Lasers filling the dark venue combined with music grabbed the kids' attention right to the very end. From start to finish, the show was packed with content and never boring — I was so satisfied.

What struck me most about Magician JT's Science Lab is that kids get to enjoy science in a fun way! Static electricity, gases, hydrogen peroxide decomposition, optical illusions, liquid nitrogen and more — turning science topics into magic and performance made it easy and fun to absorb!
