Dunchondong egg shop, poached No. 1 vs No. 2 eggs: Fresh Farmer
In short
Fresh Farmer Olympic Park Foreon Direct Store is an unmanned free-range and animal-welfare egg shop on B1 of Park Foreon by Dunchondong Station in Gangdong, Seoul. The writer bought 10 No. 1 Albon free-range fertilized eggs and 10 No. 2 animal-welfare fertilized eggs from a welfare-friendly farm, then poached both to compare yolk color and taste. Verdict: the No. 2 eggs win for deep, nutty richness, while the No. 1 Albon eggs suit anyone who prefers a familiar yellow yolk.

Today I went looking for the best egg spot near Dunchondong Station and ended up at Fresh Farmer Olympic Park Foreon Direct Store! Fresh Farmer sells animal-welfare, free-range eggs that are only stocked in department stores, so these are organic eggs you won't see in regular supermarkets. Word of mouth got me curious, so I'm going to eat shell number 1 and number 2 myself and compare them, haha.
Fresh Farmer Olympic Park Foreon Direct Store: location and opening hours

How to get to Fresh Farmer from Dunchondong Station
Come out of Exit 2 of Dunchondong Station, take the escalator in the middle of the Foreon building down to B1, go straight, then turn right, and the Fresh Farmer shop is right there on your left. The way can be confusing on a first visit, but if you search for Fresh Farmer on the map in the middle of B1, it shows the route from where you stand. You can also call the shop and they'll kindly guide you, haha.

The shop is covered in photos of free-range hens and piles of eggs, so you'll spot it right away once you're nearby, haha.

What eggs does Fresh Farmer sell?
Fresh Farmer only sells eggs from No. 1 free-range farms and No. 2 animal-welfare-style farms, so whatever you buy here, you can eat with peace of mind ☺️ They also run their own farm, handling everything from production to sale, which makes the shop even more trustworthy!

They say the eggs come from healthy hens raised on feed made from 9 good ingredients 🥚
Fresh Farmer egg subscription delivery
Fresh Farmer also has a subscription service so you can order fresh eggs to your door easily~ You get fresh eggs delivered regularly on the dates you choose, with no delivery fee, so it's a subscription I recommend, haha.

Patents and certificates on display at Fresh Farmer
Since these are premium eggs stocked only in department stores, the shop had a truly huge number of patents, certificates and confirmation documents, and they're all prepared so you can look through them when you visit. An egg shop you can trust 👍 I also heard Michelin and fine-dining restaurants these days source Fresh Farmer eggs~

How to buy eggs at the unmanned Fresh Farmer shop
Fresh Farmer Olympic Park Foreon Direct Store is an unmanned shop. The eggs are kept fresh in the fridge; pick the kind you want, pay, and take out the eggs you chose~

You pay easily at the big kiosk right next to the fridge, and there's a wide variety: No. 1 free-range, Albon No. 1, organic No. 1, No. 2 animal-welfare fertilized eggs, soft-boiled eggs, large eggs, even freshly roasted gim (seaweed) haha.

Before I knew Fresh Farmer, I figured all eggs taste about the same and barely knew about jumbo eggs, large eggs or feed. But when I visited, there was so much detailed egg information on display that I thought I should pay more attention to what I eat!

Shell No. 1 vs No. 2 eggs: how do they differ when poached?
I took home 10 No. 1 Albon free-range fertilized eggs and 10 No. 2 animal-welfare fertilized eggs from Fresh Farmer~! I understand the difference between No. 1 and No. 2 eggs on paper, but is there really a difference when you eat them? So I'm cooking both to compare 😆 When I opened the package, there was a double cover so the eggs don't break, probably because they're premium, haha.

No. 2 animal-welfare fertilized eggs: deep orange yolks
First up is the signature product said to be the number one seller in department stores, the No. 2 animal-welfare fertilized egg from a farm with a friendlier raising environment! The hens eat 100% pure grain feed, so unlike ordinary eggs the yolk is a deep orange. I'd never seen such a vivid orange, so it was fascinating and I couldn't wait to taste it, haha.

No. 1 Albon free-range fertilized eggs: familiar yellow yolks
Second is the No. 1 Albon free-range fertilized egg, from an animal-welfare-certified farm where hens live freely in a wide natural environment, with no synthetic fertilizer or antibiotics! Comparing the two, the No. 2 signature egg is nuttier and richer, but if the unfamiliar orange yolk of No. 2 feels like too much, I recommend the No. 1 free-range egg with the usual yellow yolk~

Poached egg taste test: No. 1 Albon vs No. 2
I poached both eggs and ate them, and the difference in yolk color really shows, right? haha

The No. 2 animal-welfare egg's yolk was deeper and its nutty flavor came through better, so personally I wanted to buy more of the No. 2 eggs!

The dish made with the No. 1 egg also had much deeper flavor and a different level of freshness than eggs from a regular supermarket~!

If you're looking for shell No. 1 eggs near Dunchondong Station in Gangdong-gu, this is my recommended animal-welfare, free-range egg shop with subscriptions available: Fresh Farmer Olympic Park Foreon Direct Store🥚
