In short
Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café is a brunch and bakery café of about 500 pyeong in Gongdo-eup, Anseong, Gyeonggi, roughly a 5-minute drive from Anseong Farmland. After a day at Anseong Farmland, the writer rested at Chat Baker over an iced Americano, mango fresh cream cake, a 10,000-layer croissant and sausage pizza bread, and was impressed by the high ceilings, the 2nd-floor jazz LP space and the roomy seating. Chat Baker is a large bakery café that fits neatly into an Anseong Farmland day out.

What is Chat Baker, the large café near Anseong Farmland?
Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café is a large café just a 5-minute drive from Anseong Farmland. We had a great time at the farm, so we dropped by to refuel on sugar and get our energy back.

It's a good stop to pair with Anseong Farmland, and it's big enough that it works well for families and I'd recommend it for dates too.

Chat Baker is a large café of about 500 pyeong, with plenty of parking in front, so it was easy to visit by car.

As you walk in, the order counter is right in front of you, and the big windows at the back plus the high ceiling make it feel open rather than stuffy. Love it!
Chat Baker menu: brunch dishes and breads

Chat Baker also serves brunch dishes like pasta and risotto, so you can have a proper meal before or after Anseong Farmland.

The bread selection was especially varied, from basics like salt bread and croissants to all kinds of desserts, easy to grab with a coffee. There are also nicely packaged cookies that would make a simple gift ❤
Chat Baker interior and seating on the 1st and 2nd floors
The 1st floor has generous spacing between seats and wide tables, while the 2nd floor has sofa seats, floor tables and bar tables, and feels much bigger. I really like how roomy the 1st-floor tables are, too.
On the way up to the 2nd floor, the window beside the stairs has water running down it like falling rain, which felt quite atmospheric.

Just looking at this ceiling height, you can tell how huge the café is, right??

Upstairs the space opens up even more, with green plants and unusual sculptures here and there, so it would be a good place for photos too.

The 2nd-floor jazz LP space at Chat Baker
Another signature of Chat Baker is jazz LPs! There's an area where LPs are displayed and music actually plays, giving it a different mood from a noisy big café, and it suited the place well.
Floor seating with a baby, bar tables when you're solo
The 2nd floor has comfy sofa seats and floor tables, and people with little babies mostly sat at the floor tables.
There are also bar tables around this sculpture hanging in the air, where some people were working or studying alone. If it were closer to home, I'd probably come by myself now and then too.

What we ordered at Chat Baker: mango cream cake, 10,000-layer croissant and sausage pizza bread
- 10,000-layer croissant
- Sausage pizza bread
- Mango fresh cream cake
- Iced Americano

After playing hard at Anseong Farmland I was craving coffee, so I ordered an iced Americano, plus three whole desserts that seemed like they'd go well with it *.*

How does Chat Baker's mango fresh cream cake taste?
On an earlier visit I had Chat Baker's strawberry cream cake and remembered it being delicious, so this time I ordered the mango one!

The sponge was moist and the mango was sweet. Delicious as expected 👍

The texture of the 10,000-layer croissant
This is the 10,000-layer croissant my boyfriend picked.

Maybe it's the name, but the layers felt much tighter and more defined than a regular croissant. The outside is crisp while the pastry inside is soft and moist, so the texture is great, and a subtle butter flavor came through that went well with coffee.

A kid-friendly favorite: sausage pizza bread
With our kid-level tastes, we couldn't just walk past the sausage pizza bread..

I warmed it briefly in the microwave and it tasted like the familiar pizza bread we always eat! We had a little time before dinner and wanted something to tide us over, and it was a choice with no regrets. We finished it in under 10 minutes haha
Why Chat Baker belongs on an Anseong Farmland day out
Chat Baker is close, just 5 minutes by car from Anseong Farmland, and as a large bakery café with a wide range of coffee, bread and desserts, it's a good place to rest after the farm. Taking photos and looking at flowers at Anseong Farmland drains more energy than you'd think, and it's a hassle to travel somewhere else afterward, but Chat Baker makes that less of a burden. If you're planning a trip to Anseong Farmland, I recommend stopping by here too!
